Lips: sensitive, pigmented, tend to dry and become patchy

In this post, I am sharing my reviewing Tom Ford Lip Color Shine Lust. Tom Ford offers twelve permanent shades in this range; I picked up Lust. Read on to know if this shade performed up to my expectations.

My Experience with Tom Ford Lip Color Shine Lust:
I have tried two lip colours from the Tom Ford Lips and Boys Lip Color range: Mitchell and Richard. I have also tried Tom Ford Lip Contour Duo Make Me. The Tom Ford Lips and Boys Lip Color range is my favorite. This time I picked from tom ford lip colour shine range and opted for the shade lust.
It’s a beautiful beige red with coral pink undertones. It comes packaged in a slim, rectangular, full-sized black and gold lipstick clutch. This clutch is then packed in a self-designed black coloured cardboard box. The lipstick clutch closes firmly and the packaging is definitely travel-friendly.
Since this is a full-sized lipstick, it is priced at $54 in comparison to their Lips and Boys lip colour, which is priced at $36. Actually, how much lipstick does one need? I personally prefer and like their smaller clutch sized lip colours. Secondly, when one spends so much on a lipstick, the quality and performance really matter.
Tom Ford Lip Color Shine Lust provides a gleaming finish with a lustrous high shine. The texture is ultra-creamy. It is formulated with the same rare and exotic ingredients as the iconic Tom Ford lip colours. Soja seed extract, Brazilian murumuru butter and chamomile flower oil help condition and moisturise the lips. This lipstick not only conditions but also keeps my lips moisturised and hydrated.
It feels creamy and smooth on the lips. It does not dry or irritate my sensitive lips. It has a fragrance which does not irritate me; I am quite okay with it. This ultra-creamy texture applies smoothly, however, tends to spread if not carefully applied. It delivers a beautiful lustrous shine and a veil of colour to my lips.
The coverage is sheer to medium. This shade is nicely pigmented – two to three swipes give an opaque finish to my pigmented lips. However, the lasting power is three hours or so without eating or drinking. The lip color starts to fade even if I drink water, and after a cup of tea or coffee, it just vanishes. It slips easily and fades very quickly.
It also transfers easily. It is advisable to use this lip colour with a lip pencil to avoid feathering. I feel it’s a lip balm hero as it provides all the benefits of a lip balm and imparts a lustrous high shine with a veil of colour. In case of dry and patchy lips, it is advisable to exfoliate the lips prior using this lip shine.
The lasting performance is quite disappointing. It lasts only three hours without eating or drinking. But then, all creamy lip colours hardly last two to four hours. However, I personally feel it should last longer since it is a high-end product. It does not fulfil all my expectations. I love this shade so much but I have to keep reapplying it to make it last throughout the day.

Yes, I do recommend. I am definitely not repurchasing this particular shade since it’ll last me a long time. I would opt for a smaller lipstick next time.
