Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray Review

Hello everyone,

Lately, it has been so hot here in Texas; I literally cannot wait for Fall to arrive, but till then, I need all the help I can to prevent my makeup from melting off my face in this heat, which is where this amazing product comes into the picture. This review will be on the Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray.

Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray

Product Description:
A weightless, moisture-resistant setting spray with cooling time-release that works for up to 12 hours.

What it does:
To stop makeup meltdown, just Chill. Perfect for drier or combination skin, Chill mists on to keep makeup from smudging or settling into fine lines. Temperature Control Technology actually chills the surface of your makeup to keep it looking gorgeously just-applied for up to 12 hours. Developed in an exclusive partnership with skindinavia, this groundbreaking, clinically tested formula holds foundation, eyeshadow, blush, and concealer in place. The result? Vibrant makeup that lasts and a glowing, dewy, youthful complexion.  It is formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. Unlike similar products on the market that feel sticky or tight on your skin, the sprayer delivers a microfine mist that goes on so light, you’ll hardly feel it—and once you’ve applied it, you won’t even know it’s there.

My Experience with Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray:

Packaging:  This product comes in a standard spray bottle. It has two caps, a bigger cap on the outside and a small cap on the spray mechanism on the inside. This particular version of setting spray by Urban Decay does not come in a travel-sized version, at least not in Sephora stores (Urban Decay All Nighter De Slick has a travel version).

This spray delivers an even, ultra-fine mist and 2-3 sprays are enough to cover your whole face. Though this setting spray claims to be “cooling,” I do not notice any particular cooling sensation apart from the refreshing feeling of spraying liquid on your face on a hot day. It is fast absorbing and leaves no tacky or sticky residue on the skin once it gets absorbed, and that happens in about a minute or so.

I picked up this product due to its hydrating claim. I have dry skin and whenever I use powder or mineral makeup, they tend to stick to and accentuate my dry patches and that is when I need to follow up with a spray like this to take away the “powderiness,” which is what this product does efficiently. It feels very hydrating and gives a subtle satin glow to my skin without making it look greasy or oily.

Regarding the claim of it increasing the longevity of my makeup, it is 100% true. When I have used this setting spray over my makeup, it has lasted for hours longer than it usually would. My face and particularly my eye area are prone to getting shiny as the day wears on, but with this setting spray, I have noticed that it does not get as shiny as it normally would. I require far less touch ups and even on a hot and humid day where I have stayed most part of the day outside, my makeup has not melted off or creased off or settled on dry patches or fine lines. Basically, it looked as good as freshly applied.

Fragrance:  This product has a light alcohol scent when it’s initially applied, but it dissipates quickly hence it is not a con for me.

Overall, this is a fantastic product and I must say I am loving this more than my Makeup Forever Mist and Fix, which I was a huge fan of already. I absolutely love the refreshing quality of this and how it hydrates my skin while making my makeup wear longer and better. If you have dry skin like me, this is a must have for you and I am sure you will love it.  I will recommend this.
