The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Body Whip Review

What is The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Body Whip?

Light and fluffy, this quick-absorbing, non-greasy whipped cream lotion, with rich and velvety natural ingredients, smoothes easily over the skin, leaving it moisturised, soft and supple.

Size: 250 ml

Price: Rs.  495

The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Body Lotion

This is how it looks- like thick fluffy whipped cream. Yum!

TBS Sweet Lemon Lotion

What I love about The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Body Whip:

  • The fragrance. That was my sole reason of purchasing it. :P It smells like fresh sweet lemons and it’s so mesmerizing to me. :dazed:
  • I love the texture. Although it looks quite thick in the bottle but the texture is exactly how a cream would be after it is whipped thoroughly. Fluffy and light.
  • It gets absorbed in my skin quickly without leaving any greasiness behind. That makes it an excellent summer body lotion.
  • It leaves my skin moisturized and supple after I apply it.
  • The price is fine for the quantity.
  • The fragrance is not very strong. It’s just fine according to me.And the sweet lemon smell keeps lingering around you for a while. Oh my!

Here is how it looks. The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Whip

  • It comes in a pump bottle so it’s easier to use.
  • The pump top has a twist up lock. So after you have used the product, just twist the top and the bottle gets locked. This way you can carry the bottle with you without any worry or spillage. Also. your product remain uncontaminated.

Sweet Lemon Body Whip

And it smells amazing…like once again. :P

What I don’t like about the Body Shop Sweet Lemon Body Whip:

The packaging. Although it comes with a benefit of pump bottle and a twist up lock, it does not protect the contents completely. After you pump the body whip for your usage, you will notice that some of it is left behind in the pump itself. After you twist up the lock, the lotion that is stuck in the pump dried up.

TBS Sweet Lemon

And every time you have to re-use the lotion, first the dried out part come out and then the lotion. It’s kind of gross and this also results in wastage of product.

The Body Shop Sweet Lemon

I think the previous bottles were just fine. And if they are continuing with the same packaging, I think a cap or something protective should be provided along with.

Other than that I am completely in love with the lotion and would definitely purchase the the body butter from the Sweet Lemon range in winters.

They have this campaign going on called ‘The Body Shop Loves You’ and they have marked down prices in India considerably. Also, 15-20% discount if you buy 2-3 bath products :-D

Yeah, I love the smell. I think TBS body lotions are quite nice. I was so happy with the shea butter one also (except the smell) and this one is excellent again. TBS products come from UK, I think. So may be the imports and duties make the prices go up for US….

Actually that’s quite a good feeling. :P

I wish the TBS cocoa butter hand and body lotion also came in a similar pump bottle, but I guess that one is more thin in consistency than these whip body lotions. I just bought the cocoa butter lotion and fortunately noticed in the shop that the cap was broken, otherwise would have been disaster in my purse :-/

Also, thanks for the TBS bath gloves review, I wouldn’t have bought it if it weren’t for your and Tanveer’s reviews, and I LOVE it :inlove:

Yeah, I have used the shea butter lotion and it was quite thin in consistency but worked awesomely during summers. :)

Thanks for mentioning this. I’d be double careful from now on. :)

I knew. That whole pump of product goes waste for me. :( I think their regular bottles are better…

But the lotion is so amazing that I am quite forgiving towards the packaging. :P

I am picking this up today itself as I am going to TBS for some shower gels and also to check out their new lipsticks. Was urgently needing something fresh and lemoney for the humid weather, and this I’m sure fits the bill. Also going to pick up the matching shower gel…if there is one like that. Thanks a ton, Rati, for this review. (Thanks for your email, will reply asap).

Rati:
try keeping the bottle in a cool/dark place (in the dresser). It prevents the cream from drying out in the pump…:)
It’s a tried and test trick…:)
