Elle 18 Berry Tanya Color Pops Lipstick Review

Hello all,

Here’s a quick review of a lipstick from Elle 18. I love these Color Pops lipsticks from Elle 18, they are so affordable and cute! I had reviewed a shade “Moulin Rouge” a few days ago, now it’s the turn of “Berry Tanya” today.

My Experience with Elle 18 Berry Tanya Color Pops Lipstick:

Packaging: The lipstick comes in a black plastic tube with a black cap that has a graphic picture of a girl. I find it extremely cute though the packaging is flimsy. It is sturdy enough and can be dropped into handbags without worrying about the lipstick opening up in the bag. I would have definitely liked if it was color-coded packaging since it would have been easy to locate the shades. The shade name and number are printed on a sticker stuck below the tube.

Packaging

Shade: “Berry Tanya” (wondering what it means!?) is a nice mauvey-pink color. It does not have warm tones to it, so it doesn’t make your teeth look yellow. It is a color that would instantly brighten up your face. This lipstick doesn’t have any neon hints to it and is in fact subtle.

Lipstick bullet

Texture: The lipstick bullet has two parts, a balmy core surrounded by the actual color. The texture of the lipstick is lightweight and thin. It feels light on lips and isn’t too bothersome. Even though it does not settle into the fine lines, it tends to dry out lips eventually. Compared to “Moulin Rouge,” this one has a patchy texture. It tends to highlight dry patches.

Mauve lipstick

Pigmentation: The color intensity of this one is a bit low. I had to swipe it about 3-4 times to get the actual color. This one is also less delicate compared to others, wonder why. Nevertheless, the intensity can be obtained to the desired level.  I would say that the pigmentation is average. It doesn’t have shimmer, has a satiny finish.

Hand swatch

Staying Power:  Just like the other shades from this range “Color Pops,” the issue is with easy transfer; even the slightest touch and it gets transferred everywhere. It hardly stayed for 2 hours or so on my lips and left a pink tint after disappearing. It is such a pain to see all the cups and spoons messed up with the lipstick, not to mention the embarrassment. I found that it bleeds when layered. Even with the balmy core, this lipstick was slightly drying on the lips.
