Lakme 9 to 5 lipsticksLakme’s Nine to Five Lipsticks
What is Lakme Nine To Five Lipstick? A high performance, color-fix formula developed in Italy; this creamy lipstick combines amazing comfort with staying power that keeps you looking fresh for hours.

How to apply Lakme Nine To Five Lipstick? ?

After lining your lips with a matching lip liner, fill the outlined area of your lips with these rich lip colors. Wait for two minutes for the color fix action to take effect. Now your lip color is set to last for hours.

Price- Rs 295 each.

I bought these lippies in February this year.

Why say yes to Lakme nine to five lipsticks?

  1. Lives up to its words. It lasts long on your lips.  Even after I have had a gourmet dinner and licked my lips a couple of times, it stays.
  2. Classy packaging.
  3. A lot of good shades to choose from
  4. Low to medium shine
  5. Non Sticky
  6. No Taste

Why say no to Lakme Nine to Five lipsticks?

  1. The texture is not very creamy. I have used creamier lipsticks than this one.
  2. It dries my lips. No matter how much lip balm before applying it or lip gloss after applying it, it just dries my lips. And it also makes my lips look full of fine lines after a while. :(

It s a light pink colour with a dash of golden glitter particles in it. The colour will look pretty on very fair complexion. Somehow I have never been able to pull it off. I have fair to wheatish complexion and the colour makes me look ill and nauseated. :P Sometimes, I use it on my cheeks as a blush for evenings and it gives a soft blush on my cheek with a hint of gold highlight.

This is one of my favourite nude colours. It’s a nudish brown colour. I top the lipstick with a clear gloss. The trick to last the the lipstick longer is to apply the lipstick and let it dry for 2-3 minutes. Then apply gloss. This way the lipstick sets on your lips without mixing itself with gloss. This colour will look great especially on Indian skin tones. This is the kind of shade that will make people wonder why your lips are looking so pretty when you have put nothing on them. ;)

Will I buy Lakme Nine to Five lipsticks again? No.I am a sucker for creamier lipsticks and dry lips make me feel uneasy.

Have you tried Lakme’s Nine to Five lipsticks? Is there a better way I could use them so that my lips can stay hydrated for long?

Brown is the new black, I guess :) of course, rule not applicable for lippies! I would love to use browns in all possible ways. Brown is my second favorite, black being my first.

Divija- Half of my wordrobe is balck. I love the colour. And somehow I like brown lippies as well. Not the darkish browns but I love soft browns and nudes especially. :)

Palak: I have tried all possible ways with these lippies. Infact, I exfoliate my lips regularly with toothbrush. They just don’t seem to work for me. :( I am glad this works for you. And you are most welcome sweetheart. :) *Hugs*

Hey Rati,

Nice Review.. I am really perplexed why the lippie stays on you and not on me. LOL..

It always seems to disappear on me.. btw The poppy shade looks really nice and i can see how it makes a very good cream blusher.. Nice shade..

I was wondering the same thing. :P

It makes Poppy makes great blusher but I use it only in case of emergency and make sure to moisturize my face well before applying it. :)

Lakme nine to five has been my biggest let down so far. Especially for the price that I paid for the lippies.

Hi Piya,

Eye makeup could be tricky. First I would want to know whether you use eyeliners?

Only then I would be able to assist you better.

I want to buy Lakme Lipstick 9 to 5 (Lotus 26 & Nougat 62 ) but I also want my lip glossy.
Is it a glossy? or suggest me any other lip color or gloss. :-*

The shade is indeed good. Its better not to buy Nougat if u wan ur lips glossy. Or try a good lip moisturizer before applying.

@rati – are these highly pigmented or do they give sheer coverage ?

The new 9 to 5 collection is more costly @Rs.550 but has lovely new shades. I bought one called ‘bella rose’, a very natural pink for dusky skintones. It’s my best pink ever!

I tried the Lakme 9 to 5 lip duo and HATED it, absolutely HATED, not only was it expensive, it made me look terrible, must say it was highly pigmented and a lil bit of the product itself was more than enuf, but it felt like i had paint, (like nerolac or somehng) on my lips, it came with a gloss, which smelt wierd, and looked even wierder. It was 650 rupees and i could ve bought 2 good drugstore lipsticks for tht price, maybe the color i chose also made it worse (a deep red) but then it is just so bad, i thot i could use the clear gloss part of it if the color dint turn out well, but tht was worse!

When I asked for 9 to 5 series, they said they have stopped it…
Has Lakme stopped with 9 to 5 original series??
