Anyways talking about the freezing temperature, I love winters as my skin tends to become less oily, though, I hate layering on clothes along with that pale anaemic white look of my skin. Hence, blushes are a must for me to make me look alive or in my husband’s language, I appear like a Dracula’s heroine. Considering my skin tone, usually, I tend to pick rosy pink or magenta shades (for winters) and I so love this beautiful mauve-pink from Marc Jacobs. My Experience with Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Bold Blush – Reckless:

The silky soft blush comes in a luxurious black plastic case with a flip top opening; it has a small silver push button to open the case. I liked the idea of introducing additional safety cap inside the blush case along with a mirror and applicator. It also comes with a small angled blush brush which I hardly use, though, I find it useful for touch ups but, beware it sheds bristles. The sleek black case and blush brush are housed in a velvety pouch which I really like.

The shade “Reckless” is described as a cool rosy pink blush which seems true to its description as it shows up as a cool toned purple-pink on my skin tone. It brings an instant natural pink glow to my face with its close to the natural finish and light-weight coverage. I love how it pairs well with my mauve, plum themed look at times. However, considering its semi-translucent finish and the slight medium color payoff on my skin, it can be tricky at times. Well, we can achieve a buildable coverage with few swipes but, unlike my smooth experience with Laura Geller and Nars blushes this one require few swipes to show up on my skin.

Though, I don’t find it disappointing as I always finish my makeup in a jiffy and often go overboard with pigmented blushes but, reckless gives me a fair chance to work neatly and closer to perfection. Not to forget, it blends easily and even beginners can work effortlessly with this formula and finish. And, the fact that it does not cling to dry patches and/or accentuate my oily skin and/or open pores make it a keeper for people like me.

I love how it sets onto a silky finish on the skin without looking patchy or streaky while it stays on and for good 5+ hours on my oily skin. I find it perfect for my skin type all year round as it adheres to our skin like a second skin without emphasising dryness or aggravating my acne-prone skin. Needless to say, it will work equally well on dry skin beauties considering its smooth silky and non-drying texture. I am quite impressed with this formula and planning to try few more shades from this range. I would definitely recommend this product to every beauty regardless of age and skin type except beauties with medium/dark skin tone as it might be too pale for darker skin tones.

I’m sharing the swatches with FOTD. I sported this blush on my recent trip to Yosemite national park and it stayed fresh till I reached home in the night.

• Does not irritate or accentuate acne-prone skin.
• Smooth, non-patchy and non-cakey finish.
• Stays put for good 5+ hours on my oily skin.
• Non-drying formula with comfortable wear.
• Quite attractive and travel-friendly packaging.

Cons of Marc Jacobs Beauty Shameless Bold Blush – Reckless:

• Shade might be tricky for pale, medium and darker skin tones.
• It does take few swipes to show up on skin.
• Brush applicator seems average.
• Price.
