Today, I am up with a review on a luxurious eyeliner by Marc Jacobs – Marc Jacobs Beauty Magic Marc’er Precision Pen in Blacquer.

What it is:

A liquid eyeliner inspired by the classic calligraphy pen for drawing the finest lines and achieving perfect definition.

What it does:

This waterproof liquid eyeliner pen features a calligraphy-inspired proprietary capillary system that draws thick and thin lines for accentuating the lash line or building a bolder look. This never-seen-before shade was developed in Japan to create the shiniest and blackest black on the market. The fast-working, no-transfer, no-fade formula lasts all day. This sleek liner begs to be held and is suitable for the boardroom.

Water, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Butylene Glycol, Alcohol, Polyester-5, Pvp, Laureth-4, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Citric Acid, Black 2 (Ci 77266).

My Experience with Marc Jacobs Magic Marc’er Precision Pen Eyeliner – Blacquer:

Marc Jacobs is very famous for his perfume collection. I own three fragrances – Marc Jacobs Daisy, DOT and Oh, Lola and totally in love with the smell of all three. His perfumes have never gone wrong with the way they smell and Oh Boy not to forget how adorable, unique and pretty those bottles look!!  Marc Jacobs has launched his beauty line at Sephora around August 2013.  His collection has foundations, powders, highlighters, eye shadows and eye liners. He has done a pretty good job with his makeup line too as they are raved by many people.  His makeup line also looks lavish just as his perfume line.

Packaging:

As I stated before, this eyeliner has a lavish packaging and doesn’t have a plastic look like most other high-end products have despite the high price tag. It comes in a black container that has the name embossed in silver and the cap has a silver tip. It has a look and feel of lavish ink pens from the late 50’s. Cap snaps open and the bottom part of the tube has an attached felt tip. Felt tip is quite sturdy and has a great control over the amount of product dispensed.

Color Payoff:

It has a dark-black color payoff and doesn’t come out streaky on the eyes. It has a glossy finish with absolutely no shimmer.

Felt Tip:

Tip is very sturdy and glides on very smooth without tugging on eyelids. It is neither too long nor too short and gives you a great control to draw either a thin or a thick line without being messy. Also, it provides a great control to achieve a wing liner easily.

Formula:

It has a nice formula without being either too thick or too runny. It doesn’t dry out in the bottle too soon. Also, it sets on the eyelids within a few seconds of application.

Staying Power:

It stays true to what it claims – very easy to apply, no-transfer, no-fade formula lasts all day and doesn’t feather or flake off during the day and it can be easily removed with makeup remover.  This eyeliner doesn’t feel dry and uncomfortable on eyes after a few hours of wear as most other eyeliners feel. Also, it is very safe for sensitive eyes or people who wear contact lens or just had LASIK.

• Felt tip gives a lot of control over the line.
• Quick and easy for beginners.
• Safe for sensitive eyes.

Cons of Marc Jacobs Magic Marc’er Precision Pen Eyeliner – Blacquer:

• High price tag.
• Not available in other countries.

Overall, I am very impressed by the eyeliner except for a very hefty price tag considering the fact that there are decent eyeliners available in the drugstores that perform a decent job, but this product performs great in comparison to drugstore brands and some much hyped high-end eyeliners. I wish it was priced down a little to enjoy it every day.
