Today, I will review one of my favourite body lotions from the brand NIVEA. In general, I love all Nivea products and Smooth Sensation Body Lotion is no different. I got it from the USA last year as it was not available in India then.

My Experience with Nivea Smooth Sensation Body Lotion:

Whenever, I think of a cream/moisturiser/body lotion, the first brand that comes to my mind is Nivea. I am a huge fan of Nivea for its creams, body lotions and lip balms. When I saw this body lotion in a store, I knew it had to go home with me.

The lotion is lightweight and has medium consistency which is neither too thick nor too runny. As for the texture, it is not greasy at all, but still has that moisture and richness that is just perfect. The lotion itself is very light and moisturizing and it doesn’t make my skin feel oily or greasy afterwards.

It might feel slightly greasy at first. But, the effect goes away completely within minutes and leaves the skin silky smooth, soft and hydrated. Another bonus, it gives a really healthy glow to the skin.

This product actually makes my skin look and feel smooth as a sugar scrub or body polish would. The scent is sweet yet very subtle which reminds me of baby powder, so it doesn’t compete with my perfume.It is perfect for summers as well as winters as it is light weight yet moisturizes well.

It is quite long lasting and the moisturizing effect lasts long for up to 8-9 hours. However, claim that its moisture lasts for more than 24 hours is not true. It gets absorbed into the skin quickly and doesn’t need a lot of massage/effort. I have started applying it every day after shower and it does a wonderful job of softening the skin. It is suitable for all skin types as it is non-greasy.

As for the packaging, it is efficient and robust. It comes in a blue plastic bottle with Nivea details printed. This printing has come off and bits of the plastic stick to the bottle and my hands. It has a pump which dispenses sufficient amount of lotion. The pump is really convenient and non- messy. This also avoids wastage of product and a hygienic way of taking out the product. However, I prefer pumps that can be locked when not in use, making it travel friendly.

This product is worth every penny and it is true to its claim of providing smooth and touchably soft skin.
