Today’s review will be on a sponge that I had been eyeing since forever. So, when I had the opportunity to pick products from my IMBB review points, I wanted to get this blending sponge from NYX. I have also purchased another makeup sponge from Natio that I’m currently testing. Today, I’m sharing the review on NYX Flawless Finish Blending Sponge. So, let’s get started!

My Experience with NYX Flawless Finish Blending Sponge:
This sponge comes in a plastic box, mine got flattened during transit. Anyway, there are some details printed on the box. The box is transparent and small, so you can use it to store the sponge. I have thrown mine out as it was out of shape. I am using a small container to store it instead and keep it safe from dust.
The sponge is a deep black coloured sponge. It is slightly stiff and not that soft when it is dry. It is sturdy and made of good quality material. I have another beauty sponge which used to feel very nice earlier, but after I got this one from NYX, I have come to know the difference between the quality of these two sponges. It is stiff and is a very dense sponge, but not in a bad way. It has a rough tear drop shape because it is rounded on one side and is flat on the other side.
It has a slightly flat, curved smooth shape at the bottom and it tapers at the top. It also has a line marked on the sponge.
It feels like a very dense sponge when it is dry but doesn’t feel rubbery. I ran it under regular water and saw it grow in size. It grows approximately 1.5 times its original size. It becomes a lot more spongy and bouncy and sparse. It feels heavy due to water retention inside the sponge. You have squeeze out the water, and honestly it is fun to do that! So, when you’ve squeezed it and the sponge is damp, it feels very light and bouncy. It is softer and squishy.
I have tested it with two foundations that have different consistencies to see how it works for both. I tried first with a foundation that had mousse-y consistency and it works nicely but it requires a few extra dabs to make it look natural and well blended. With foundations that have liquid, thin consistency like Maybelline Matte and Poreless foundation, it works wonders! I literally had to dab it for 5-6 times and the foundation blended into my skin and gave me a very nice and even finish.
The flat and tapered side can be used to cover up under-eye dark circles or places that are hard to reach, like inner corners of the eyes. I’ve also used it for baking my under eyes and it works well. The bottom side can be used for cheeks, forehead etc.
The sponge hasn’t stained yet and is very easy to wash. I use an old body wash that I also use to clean my brushes and sponges. It works very well for this sponge too. It has retained the colour and the shape very well after a few washes. There aren’t any signs of wear and tear yet. Also, when you squish the sponge and release, it immediately comes back to its original form. That’s one great thing about it. But one thing that I dislike about this sponge is that it takes forever to dry completely! But other than that, I don’t really have anything negative to say about this sponge.

- Dense when dry.
- Very good quality sponge.
- Expands quickly and up to 1.5 times its original size.
- Blends out products very easily.
- Very easy to use.
- Comes in its own little box.
- Has dimensions to it, so you can use it for concealers as well as foundations.
- Becomes very squishy and soft when damp.
- No sign of wear and tear with multiple uses.
- Hasn’t stained yet with multiple uses.
- Easy to wash it off, no discoloration noticed.
Cons of NYX Flawless Finish Blending Sponge:
- Expensive in India.
- Takes forever to dry!

Would I Recommend/Repurchase NYX Flawless Finish Blending Sponge?
Yes! Although it is expensive in India, I’d still suggest this sponge. You can always have friends/family coming down from US bring you this. It’s going to last me for a long time I feel.
