Since summers and sweats are already here, I had to put my favourite Oriflame’s Mulberry lotion in cold storage and start searching for oil-absorbing formulas. In Oriflame’s catalogue, I found three options, the first one was the newly introduced Matte Touch Day Gel Cream (Rs. 549) and the other one was White Mattifying Lotion with SPECIAL ANTI-SHINE AGENT, and the third one was the Pure Skin Shine Control Cream. Out of the three choices, I chose White Mattifying Lotion because it also had SPF 15 and I am glad I did so, here’s why.

My Take on Oriflame Optimals White Mattifying Lotion with SPF 15:
This ointment-y lotion comes in a white tube with a flip open cap and it is slightly runny in consistency. While looking at the ingredients, I found out that it has my favourite mulberry extract (morus bombycis extract). Fragrance wise, Oriflame Optimals White Mattifying Lotion is slightly on the ointmenty side. I had to be a little careful with the flip cap because there is a chance that sometimes I get more quantity in my hand and only about a pea size is what is required for the entire face. It takes a little bit of time for the lotion to get absorbed into the skin, but once it does, it smoothens the dry areas of the face and gives a well-hydrated look, but nothing greasy. I could wear it under the regular foundation and it did not feel heavy. Also, I could wear it alone or along with a compact and it kept my face grease and shine free for a good 3 to 4 hours without touch ups. But, looking at the tube, I feel it is a little less quantity for the price that I paid. Nevertheless, it is working fine for me and I do hope it lasts me through the entire summer season (wishful thinking!!!!).
Regarding the “white” in the cream’s name, I have stopped looking for whitening/brightening effects…. :smug:
