Hi makeup lovers from all over the world!
So, have any of you heard about the brand Sally Hansen? I am pretty sure most, if not all of you have since they are well known for their nail polishes and other nail porducts. I know that I for one, often buy their polishes almost every week when I visit my local Walmart. I mean, where can you go wrong when you’re only spending $2 on nail polish, right? They are just so affordable.
Well, today, I a m not reviewing one of their nail polishes but rather their matte liquid lip gloss. I was in Walmart when I came across this product. I was so surprised when I saw it, I had to double check and make sure no one was fooling around and took a lip gloss out of its original packaging and put it in a Sally Hansen packaging. After finally reassuring myself that indeed, Sally Hansen made this lip gloss, I immediately put it in my cart and headed to the cash register to purchase my new lip product! I was so excited to try it out!
Pros of Sally Hansen Lip Gloss:
Bigger product line: I absolutely love how Sally Hansen is exploring their options. Personally, I think creating a new product other than nail related products is an excellent idea – especially If the products are lip glosses and lip sticks. With the beauty industry changing rapidly, each and every day girls are looking for new products to rock, so Sally Hansen starting a lip wear line would be perfect.
Amount of product: I have had this lip gloss for more than a year now, and surprisingly, I still have a lot of product left. The amount of product included in the tube is very generous. You definitely get way more than you pay for, and I think that’s the way it should be. If we can fork over money, then the customer should receive a product that satisfies their needs, right?
Colour: The colour of this lip gloss is gorgeous. The only shade that was there is called “Brocade”. It is such a gorgeous deep colour. It looks like a mix of red and brown. It is not too dark nor is it too birght. Also, it is a moist matte product, meaning that the colour appears matte.
Cost: Unbelievably, this product cost me $2. At first I thought there was something wrong with it, like who would price a lip gloss at $2 but after trying it, I know it works well.
Cons of Sally Hansen Lip gloss:
Packaging: The major flaw I saw in this lip gloss was the way the item was packaged. The tube looks so cheap, it is just a plain plastic tube with Sally Hansen written on it. And it is finished with a black base. For such a well known brand, who has received recognition world wide, especially at fashion week, I was really disappointed with the packaging. You would expect them to step their game up, eh?
Smell: I really dislike the smell of the product, it disgusts me. I personally hate the smell of mint and that is exactly what it smells like. If you’re not a fan of mint, then wearing this may be a bit difficult at first.
All in all, I was very pleased with this product and wish that Sally Hansen would create more lip products. I think there is only one shade available and I haven’t seen it in stores after that one time. I would be really disappointed if they no longer made lip glosses or even considered making them.
