VLCC Cocoa Butter Hydrating Body Lotion SPF15

Hi All!

I was at a friend’s place and while we were munching chips and gossiping, I noticed a couple of stuff on her dressing table. That was the end of our gossip session. I began quizzing her about the products and squeezed out ample information out of her non committal yeses and nos to be able to write a review. Out of those products, today I’ll review VLCC Cocoa Butter Hydrating Body Lotion SPF15.

Price: Rs79 for 100ml/3.38fl.oz

Product Claims:

• Fortified with essential fatty acids that penetrate to deep hydrate the skin.
• Deep moisturizes and conditions the skin.
• SPF15 provides UVA and UVB protection to prevent skin darkening and premature ageing.

Ingredients: Cocoa Butter, Trehalose, Aloe Vera Extract, Olive Oil, Wheat Germ Extract, Silion Blend with Shea Butter, Triclosan, Hydrolyzed Malt Extract, Titanium Dioxide, Octyl Methoxy Cinnamate.

My Experience with VLCC Cocoa Butter Hydrating Body Lotion SPF15:

The product comes in a plastic white bottle and a grayish silver cap that can be flipped open to reveal a small hole through which the product comes out. The body of the bottle is okay but the cap is very flimsy. It does not shut close properly and keeping it in a bag is out of question. My friend’s developed cracks after it fell down.

The smell of the product is very mild. I could not really place it but it is nice and fades away with time after application. The consistency of the lotion is towards the runnier side. It feels very light when you start spreading it on your body but the moisturisation it provides is amazing. It is not at all greasy or oily and gets absorbed in the skin like magic. My friend has normal skin and she says it keeps her skin hydrated the entire day. She uses it twice. Once post bath and once after she gets back home from work and she finds it enough to keep dry skin at bay. She feels this product would work for her even during the winters.

The product contains sun protection but it is only SPF15, so, it might not be a very good idea staying in the sun for a long time wearing only this. My friend wears her regular sun-block, lets it stay for some time and then applies this body lotion which I think is very wise. She says she likes the lotion just for its excellent hydrating properties and nothing else. She recommends it to all her fellow normal-skinned people.

Pros of VLCC Cocoa Butter Hydrating Body Lotion SPF15:

• Extremely hydrating. Might work well even during winters( for normal skin).
• Has a mild smell which fades away with time.
• Cheap.
• Has SPF.
• Non greasy.

Cons of VLCC Cocoa Butter Hydrating Body Lotion SPF15:

My friend finds no cons with this product but I’d have liked it if it had at least SPF30. Also, the cap is flimsy.

IMBB Rating: 4/5. This is what my friend rates it.

Will I Repurchase VLCC Cocoa Butter Hydrating Body Lotion SPF15:

My friend says that this product works for her and that she’ll continue with this product till there’s a raise in her salary. :D
