VLCC Skin Defense Aloe Vera Body Lotion with SPF 10 Review

Hi IMBB Beauties,
This is my first review on IMBB and I am really excited about this. Before getting into review, I would like to introduce myself. I am Visakhi Krishnan, a native of Trivandrum, Kerala. I love this blog and also all the members of it. The way all of you carry it, it’s incredible.

About VLCC Skin Defense Aloe Vera Body Lotion with SPF 10:

VLCC Skin Defense Aloe Vera Body Lotion with SPF 10 is a herbal-based body lotion from VLCC, the popular Indian brand. I was using Nivea body lotion since years, sometimes I switch it with baby lotions or baby oil, but finally end up again with Nivea, not because its my HG cream, but because I get a lot of Nivea products from Gulf (yeah, I am a malayalee, so it’s obvious that I will be getting a lot of products from Gulf).

Second
When I was just roaming through the store, I just checked the VLCC section. I never had used any VLCC products, in fact, before IMBB, I barely knew VLCC had so much products. Through IMBB, I became aware of parabens, so I wanted to try out something without parabens, and I ended up in VLCC. (I hope they don’t have any parabens in it, I am not sure). There were a lot of body lotion varieties in that section and I finally ended up picking aloe vera.

I am a huge fan of aloe vera products; I like the cooling effect of aloe vera. Since there were a lot of articles on aloe vera here, I think I don’t have to describe its benefits, because all the IMBB beauties know it more than me.

My Take on VLCC Skin Defense Aloe Vera Body Lotion

I took this one seeing the so good ingredient list. It comes in a flip open bottle, so hygienic also. On the first application, I was disappointed by the packaging, a lot of product comes in a single press. The lotion has medium consistency and it is absorbed in a short time. It has a nice smell also, which doesn’t last for long. At first, I liked the product very much; it did make my skin soft and I had no greasy feeling at all, but then, I applied it before going to office (AC atmosphere), it didn’t stay for long; my skin became dry again, which means it won’t moisturize in winters. So, I use it only on weekends when I don’t have office. It works well in summer conditions.

Pros of VLCC Skin Defense Aloe Vera Body Lotion

• Inexpensive , Rs. 150 for 200 ml is really cheap.
• Ingredients, lot of great ingredients ( I hope they don’t use any parabens along with it).
• Easily absorbed.
• Has a strong and nice smell, but easily fades (can be a con to some people).
• Makes skin soft.
• A little is needed for the whole body application, so lasts long (it’s a con for me, I bought it 3 months ago and still a lot of product is left).
• Easily available.

Cons of VLCC Skin Defense Aloe Vera Body Lotion

• Moisturization won’t last long.
• Only key ingredients are listed.
• SPF 10 is in no means satisfactory for sun protection (I never used it without my sunscreen).
• Packaging, higher volume comes out in a single press.
• It won’t provide enough moisturization for winter climate, for sure (it does not put up even in AC atmosphere).
Overall Verdict:
It’s not a miraculous product, but not a bad one either; it’s just a normal body lotion with a little (very little) sun protection.
Will I Repurchase It?

No. I will finish off whatever is remaining in the pack, but since this is not suitable for my dry skin, I won’t be buying it again. Maybe, I would buy the wild turmeric face wash next from this range.

Will I Recommend This To Others?

If you have normal or oily skin, this may work for you, but definitely, not for me (may be for summers ).
IMBB Rating:2.5/5.
