5 Essence Long Lasting Lipsticks and I Love Runway Highlighter Review

Today I want to talk about my lipsticks and highlighter from Essence Cosmetic. One lazy afternoon I was going through my favourite online shopping destination online. And I saw some new lipsticks from Essencerange “Essence Long Lasting Lipstick”. I checked the price and it’s only INR 299.. wohoooo . I have heard pretty good things about this cosmetic line and I immediately ordered 5 lipsticks and one highlighter. So, here is what I received:

My Experience with 5 Essence Long Lasting Lipsticks:

These lipsticks come in a classic black plastic packaging, the logo engraved on the cap and at the bottom, name of the shade, along with the shade number plus the colour code. The cap gets closed tightly without hurting my lipstick and a band around it indicating the lipstick shade, so it’s kind of easy to find out your colour. These lipsticks are NOT matte and they are super hydrating. It gets applied very smoothly on the lips without setting into the fine lines and gives good coverage in one single swipe. They are so moisturizing that I don’t feel the need of applying lip balm underneath. These lipsticks remind me of the MAC Cream Sheen lipstick. The formula is quite same. The staying power is about 3-4 hrs and while eating and drinking it does fade out a bit but evenly. 🙂

This range has pretty good shade collection starting from N*de ones to the daily wearable pinks, Coral colours and the Hot and S*xy red colours. I am a hoarder of pink, coral and nude shades. So without going outside of my comfort zone I picked up my favourite shades and skipped Red ones for the time being. But I so loved the formula that I am thinking to grab all the shades available in this range. 🙂
Now let’s talk about the shades I picked up:

Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in shade Love Me: Love me is a neutral pink shade, which is very suitable for light to medium skin tone. It is one of the shade that you pick, swipe on your lips and ready to go out without any confusion if my lips are looking too bright for a simple day outing. This is definitely my go to everyday shade. It’s not shiny, but gives glow to my lips. Totally adore this one 🙂

Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in shade Blush My Lips: Blush My Lips is a bright pink kind of candy pink, which is bright enough to give your face a colour pop. Perfect for summer and spring time.

Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in shade Coral Calling: Coral Calling is a pretty coral shade with warm tone suitable for fall and winter.

Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in shade Wear Berries: Wear Berries is a true berry colour with purple tone making it the best colour for fall, but I think I am going to wear it in summers too. 😛 😛

Essence Long Lasting lipstick in shade Natural Beauty: Natural Beauty is a medium tone peachy red shade, which will suit to fair skin. Again suitable colour for everyday wear. Something that I want to carry in my purse all the time.

Dupe Alert:

The best part of this range that some of these lipsticks are the close dupes of some high end lipsticks as claimed by most of the bloggers. Let’s take a look

Pros of 5 Essence Long Lasting Lipsticks:

• Affordable.
• Good colour range.
• Very hydrating.
• Cruelty free.
• Creamy and smooth texture.
• Pigmented.

Cons of Essence Long Lasting Lipsticks:

• Staying power is not great. Avg 3-4 hours.
• Limited colours available in India. 🙁

My Experience with Essence I Love Runway Highlighter:

Now let’s check out another beauty from the haul, which is the highlighter I picked. It’s a pen style highlighter, which has a subtle colour and shine. On packaging it’s suggested to use above the brow bone and in the inner corner of the eyes. Once it is blended perfectly it gives nice glow to the face. It comes in a black plastic packaging and a pen style, which needs to be twisted to get the product out.

Dupe Alert:

Essence I Love Runway Highlighter is said to be the close dupe of YSL Touche Éclatbut; since I don’t own YSL, so I can’t comment on it. But, I would love to hear it from you beauties if any of you have tried it. 🙂

Pros of Essence I Love Runway Highlighter:

• Easy to blend.
• Subtle shiny.
• Affordable.
• Easy to apply.

Cons of Essence I Love Runway Highlighter:

• Comes in only one shade.
• Wouldn’t suit to darker skin tones.

Would I recommend/repurchase 5 Essence Long Lasting Lipsticks?

Over all I am pretty much happy with Essnece Haul. Great lipstick with such an amazing price. Colour range is quite good and you can have lots of colour in your collection without burning hole into your pocket. Best part is some of them are the dupe of MAC lipsticks.

Would I recommend/repurchase Essence I Love Runway Highlighter?

About highlighter, it’s a good pick for light to medium skin tone people and it is again a dupe of high end YSL highlighter. I highly recommend these products to you all.

I am surely going to get my hand on other Essence products too. On that note I take a leave and promise to be back with my another reviews soon.
