I think keeping ourselves away from makeup is a tough job. I cannot stop myself from wearing makeup. Sometime back, I decided to stay away from makeup but could not succeed; it also left a lot of my friends in shock. 😛 Still, if you have the willpower to go makeup-free, here are some things that will definitely happen.
1. Freedom from clogged pores
Whether it is a heavy foundation or a light BB cream, our pores definitely get clogged. These clogged pores then lead to pimples, acne, blackheads, blemishes etc. So as soon as I stopped wearing makeup, all my skin troubles vanished. I felt amazing about my skin as there was no sign of clogged pores and my skin looked fresh.
2. You’ll shock your friends
“Are you fine?” or “Did you not sleep well?” – these are the most common questions your friends will ask you once you go in front of them without makeup. So instead of changing your routine drastically, stop using products one by one. From your dolled up look, go for the no-makeup makeup look and then eventually stop using any makeup products. This process will keep you satisfied and you won’t have to answer such questions. 😛
3. You’d want to go all-natural
Just when you stop using makeup, you start investing in new skin care products (because you save some extra bucks). Hence, your skin starts to feel better, lighter and free from all chemicals. This is also a good time to go for all-natural skin care products that are healthy and herbal yet will take good care of your skin.
4. You’ll gain more confidence
Once you start minimizing the use of your makeup or stop using it, you will definitely feel confident. When I started to go makeup-free 3 months ago, I felt very confident in meeting new friends as I felt people are meeting the real me and are accepting me with all my flaws.
5. You will always be on time
Being on time becomes easier for you do not have to go for layers of makeup. You don’t have to decide your makeup looks. Also, there won’t be any need of constant touch-ups, so you won’t miss any fun with your friends.
6. You will start embracing your flaws
When you are too much into makeup (like me :P), you go crazy while looking for that perfect full-coverage foundation. But when you reduce the usage of makeup, you start accepting your real self. You start appreciating your own flaws and loving your own self a lot more than before.
PS: I am a hardcore makeup lover and can not really abstain myself from it. However, I do believe in going makeup-free every once in a while for the sake of my own skin and to accept my own flaws. 🙂 If you do not wish to ditch your makeup, that’s your choice and I appreciate it. 🙂
