6 Tips on How To Instantly Reduce Pores
We all know by now that the secret behind the flawless faces of your average model or celeb is – yup, you guessed it right! Photoshop! 😛 But on a serious note, as Youtube makeup artist Wayne Goss has also said, it IS possible to get a flawless face with minimal pore visibility. How?! Well, here are 6 ways that I found using which you can work towards it:
1. Exfoliate, exfoliate:
Try to exfoliate your skin at least once a week to avoid clogged pores. Clogged pores are a major cause for breakouts. Avoid anything too harsh though, you don’t want to irritate your skin. Use a light scrub or a soft cloth dipped in lukewarm water to scrub your face.
2. Get toned:
Toners help tighten up your pores and also control oil content on your skin, so make sure you use a good quality tone water, or even pure rose water. There are lots of inexpensive brands that do a good job with their toners.
3. Face it:
Never underestimate the power of face masks. Face masks, especially the clay-based ones are excellent for absorbing excess oil and getting rid of dirt and grime right at the root. Try to use a good-quality clay or exfoliating mask at least once a week. I am actually guilty of never having used a face mask! I will read all the Freeman and Lush face mask reviews for research now 😛
4. The prime Factor:
Use a makeup primer. It works wonders in smoothening out your skin and giving you an even tone, and it ensures that your makeup goes on perfectly, to get that photo finish you have always wanted. I personally use foundation rarely, but when I do, I do apply a light lotion as a base.
5. Less is More:
Don’t overdo it – avoid slapping on the makeup like pancake. Lightweight, sheer, soft – if you see any of these words on a brand of foundation, go for it. These work much better than the creamier heavyduty ones which could also clog your pores and may be tough to remove at the end of the day.
6. Pore Strips:
Finally, try using pore strips. You must have seen pore minimizing or blackhead removing strips at your local supermarket. They seem funny to use but, they actually do work on improving your skin and minimizing pore appearance as much as possible. You will be thankful later.
I hope you found these tips useful, I certainly did and I am going to use them in my routine 🙂

Very useful, thanx for sharing 🙂
Thanks guys 🙂 glad you found them useful!
great tips nandini. :)) I agree on all the points. Dont have the excessive pores problem as much but guess all your tips are great for regular skin care as well. 🙂
Thanks rati 🙂 yeah, same goes for me as well!! But these are good to include in your regular routine.
well written Nandini.. i agree to all the points you have mentioned ..specially its always better to go light on foundations 🙂
i am totally for the ‘less is more’ and the ‘primer’ tip. i learnt only through IMBB about how one could look good without having to put layers and layers of makeup. I dont use a toner cos for some reason i have never found the right one.
I hate heavy foundation .but due to certain scars I have to slather a lot f concealer and foundation. But I make it a point to use a toner and calamine lotion before applying those. I keep breaking out despite these few techniques mentioned above.perhaps due to hormonal rzns
Try the tea tree range from the body shop, it works well for sensitive skin.
Don’t you love Wayne! 😀
Nice tips… but I’ve heard the pore strips are more harmful than helpful… something about the capillaries on the nose. Any idea? I haven’t used a pack of ’em because of this. Just lying there, brand new.
Moderation? :s
Adore him 😀 really? :/ I should read up more, but I guess once in a while doesn’t hurt…moderation you know? 😀
good ones..
