Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Skin Ex Review

Skin Type: Combination and acne-prone

Hey everyone,

I am back with an another skincare product review. This time, I will be reviewing my first product from Innisfree, the amazing Korean skincare and makeup brand. I am obsessed with skincare this year and I am trying to perfect my routine. Since I have combination and acne-prone skin, toners are very important for me. A good toner can be a game-changer for your skin type and which is why I bought this toner + light moisturizer specially developed for combination skin from Innisfree. It comes in two more variations – green tea fresh skin for oily skin and green tea moisture skin for dry skin. Read onto how this product fared out for me.

My Experience with Innisfree Green Tea Balancing Skin Ex:

Packaging: The product comes in a green-toned cardboard box which enlists the ingredients (in Korean) and the usage instructions. Once you open the box, you will see a beautiful green transparent bottle with the product in it. The transparent bottle makes it easy to visualize how much product is left. The name of the company is engraved on the dark green cap and the body of the bottle. This product comes in travel sizes (25 ml) in special kits from Innisfree, but I am not sure if it is sold separately.

The cap can be unscrewed easily and the product is dispensed through a hole on the lid of the bottle. This hole is sealed initially and must be ripped off to be able to use the product. So, you have to invert the bottle, shake it a bit in the palm to dispense the product. It’s not ideal but it works fine to dispense the product. I have to be careful sometimes to not shake it too much. Overall, the packaging is efficient and the 200 ml bottle is also travel-friendly. I don’t have any major complaints in this department.

Consistency and Results: The consistency of the product is runny, so I always dispense it in the palm of my hand to avoid wastage. The product looks slightly milky but it completely clears out once it is applied. It has a very fresh and soothing fragrance, I love it. It is not strong or overpowering. I use this toner twice a day after washing my face. I just take a coin-sized amount and tap it on my skin. It takes a couple of minutes to absorb and set. A small amount is required for the entire face.

Once it absorbs, it gives you this hydrated, extremely smooth and soft skin. It is a perfect base for those dewy makeup looks. It doesn’t feel heavy at all and it doesn’t aggravate the sebum production of my skin (it doesn’t control it either). It’s a very light-weight toner. It soothes the skin so much and just using this product on its own is a very relaxing experience (the fresh smell and the hydration boost). With regular use, my complexion has become clearer and my skin has become baby-soft. The best part about the product is that it offers you the correct amount of hydration needed for combination skin, so in summers, you can skip the day moisturizer and just use this product after washing your face. I have also noticed that it works on minimizing the appearance of pores. However, if you are looking for a sebum-controlling toner, I would suggest the green tea fresh skin ex from the same range.

Overall, I absolutely love this product because it provides the right amount of hydration for combination skin without being heavy. It also clears out complexion, makes it smoother and soft with regular use. If all this was not already enough, it has also helped in minimizing the pores around my nose. I have gifted this toner to my best friend, and my mother, both are enjoying it immensely. It fits perfectly in my routine and I can’t find any faults in it.
