Finally, June is coming to an end. Hopefully, summers will also come to an end now making way for romantic rainy season in India! But here, summer will drive us crazy even in September; no worries, it’s a great season to swim and get in shape while doing so. I am here to share another brow styling product with you all from BareMinerals. After my average experience with L’Oreal Paris Brow Stylist Eye Brow Pencil, I went ahead with this brow styler and find it quite good for the price and results. This one comes in two universal shades (light and dark) which might seem tricky for many of us. But, I find its Universal Dark shade apt for my black-brown brows, to be honest! I won’t say that this is the best brow styling product in the market, but it is definitely one of the best brow pencils I have tried. So, let’s begin!
What it is:
An all-in-one styler that creates perfectly polished brows.
What it does:
With two universally flattering shades and an ultra-fine tip, this all-in-one, twist-up brow styler shapes, defines, fills in, and styles your arches. Easy to use, it features a built-in brush that lets you effortlessly groom and blend brows for a naturally-polished look.
$15 for 0.003 oz (0.09 g) all across sites and in store
My Experience with bareMinerals Universal Dark Frame and Define Brow Styler:
I totally adore this sleek, slim, retractable brow pencil with product at one end and a fine spoolie brush at other end, secured safely inside a cap. I would have appreciated a cap for brow pencil as well, though but it is fine as the product retracts back inside packaging completely.
Coming to my shade, “Universal dark”, it looks dark brunette-brown to me while it effortlessly blends with my black-brown brows without looking odd. I find it perfect for any day time or night time makeup. I also like the smooth texture of this pencil which makes it slide easily onto my brows with no tugging pulling and/or plucking my brows. It can be used gently to define thick brows while we may use it sparsely on thick brows to create perfect thick arch without any hustle bustle.
The product comes out waxy smooth on our brows which settles down easily on our skin to give long lasting make over without looking cakey or made up, unless that’s what we want to achieve. I mean, we cannot go wrong with this shade as well as the texture of this pencil which is forgiving in my case. Even the spoolie brush gives neat and well maintained brows as it brushes away extra waxy product off our brows, creating well defined bushy arch.
I find this product quite convenient to fill in between my brows apart from creating perfect arch which alters the shape of my natural brows and photographs well without looking made up at all. However, I cannot claim that it works better than brow powder, but yes it will certainly come handy for the last minute grooming and while travelling especially for moms like me!
I keep it handy in my purse though I never need touchups once it is set; it stays put for really good hours even in highly humid and hot weather around. I am quite happy with this product and would definitely recommend you to give it a try. Probably, I would get it again for my last minute grooming and travelling needs.
Let’s sum up pros and cons:
Pros of bareMinerals Universal Dark Frame and Define Brow Styler:
• A light weight, waxy brow pencil with two universal shades to suit variety of skin tones
• The shade Universal Dark is perfect match for my black-brown brows
• I find it very handy and convenient for my medium thick brows – both am and pm
• The texture of the pencil is waxy smooth which does not look cakey or made up on our skin
• It effortlessly slides through brows and easily works as a filler to give perfect thick bushy arches
• It lines and defines our arch perfectly with no tugging, pulling or plucking
• The spoolie brush gives neat and groomed finishing touch while striking away extra waxy product off brows for a natural makeover
• The product stays put for good 8+ hours on my oily skin that too in hot humid weather around
• The smart, sleek retractable pencil packaging is a win win in every case
Cons of bareMinerals Universal Dark Frame and Define Brow Styler:
• Only two shades to choose from
• It is not comparable to finish we get with a brow powder
Well, I am not a pro at using brow powder, hence I find this pencil handy and perfect for my makeover till I learn the technique of using brow powder or waxes, at least! If you are also an amateur and wondering where and what to start with, try this brow styler. I am sure you will like it!
