Hello fellow IMBBians,
Here is a review of a lip liner that I bought on an impulse and was glad enough to find good reviews online; however, my happiness was short lived since the lip shade is meant for only fair to pale skin tones and does not work that well for brown or darker skin tones. With experience and a lot of money down the drain, I have realized that I should not buy any product based on the claims that it makes because not every product is suitable for everyone.
These waterproof lip pencils can be used to prep the lips for mineral lipstick or on their own as an all-over lip color. Creating a perfectly defined pout that lasts all day has never been easier, with these creamy liners that glide on effortlessly. Formulated with pure minerals, natural waxes, and antioxidants, these are hypoallergenic and safe for all skin types.
My Take on Bellapierre Nude Waterproof Gel Lip Liner:
I personally like Lakme 9 to 5 lip liner and Rimmel liners, but to add other brands to my vanity, I checked out this lip liner by Bellapierre, which by its description, appeared to be a versatile product that can be paired with all sorts of lip colors. It’s a skinny, sharpen-able pencil with a cap on top. There is nothing proprietary about the packaging and is like all other lip liners that are available in the market.
Lip liners should be creamy and easy to work with and this liner does not fulfill those norms. It is a gel product and is expected to be creamy in texture and easy to apply, but it is not at all easy to apply on the lips and I had to pull my lip skin really tight to make it glide on without breakage.
The shade is too pale for my skin tone and washes me out. It can surely work for fair skin tones but is certainly not meant for my skin tone (dusky skin tone).
This lip liner has good color payoff, but only after one masters the art of applying this product. Also, it cannot be worn on its own and has to be paired with a darker lip color to make it wearable for my skin tone.
It’s a matte finish lip liner. Once applied, it does stay put and also prolongs the wear time of lipstick. However, after heavy meals, one might need to do a little touch-up, but otherwise, it makes even a regular lipstick stay for an entire day.
Concluding, it’s not a shade that suits my skin tone and it does not come cheap also, so I see no point in repurchasing this liner.
Pros of Bellapierre Nude Waterproof Gel Lip Liner:
- Skinny lip pencil in a sharp-enable form.
- Very mild fragrance which vanishes soon enough.
- Pale pink color that would look pretty on fair skin tones.
- Good pigmentation.
- Increases wear time of lipsticks.
Cons of Bellapierre Nude Waterproof Gel Lip Liner:
- Too expensive.
- Cap is fragile, also the tip breaks up during application easily.
- Sharpening leads to wastage of product.
- This particular shade does not suit my skin tone.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Bellapierre Nude Waterproof Gel Lip Liner?
No, because it is expensive and the shade is not right. I do not recommend it to readers because there are better options at much lower prices available in the market.
