The Body Shop Mango Body Whip Review

The Body Shop Mango Body Whip Review

Hello Beautifuls,

How is the last month of 2013 going on gals? Santa baba is already showering my dream gifts and it seems a merry crazy month for me. I don’t know why I have started loving TBS once again for its amazing charity gifts especially! As we all know TBS believes in community fair trade program which ensures job for needy people worldwide.  TBS has launched a scheme “joy of life” some time back in November, it is a charity gift scheme which will support kids education for every dollar we spend. This scheme was also pretty tempting to purchase a tote bag or a cactus heart (face scrub) as joy of life worth $5 and in turn get 4 redeemable coupons for 4 weeks of free products. Well, by the time, I could get hold of cactus heart, it was sold out, hence I grabbed this tote in order to get free gifts 😛 It’s already been 2 weeks and I received 2 free deluxe gifts, 250 ml mango whip body (initial week gift) and 200 ml vanilla bliss body butter (this week gift) respectively.  So, please read on further to know more about my joy of life, TBS mango body whip today 🙂

The Body Shop Mango Body Whip 3

Packaging:

This velvety lotion comes in an usual plastic bottle packaging with pump dispenser.  Does not seem travel friendly, but pretty manageable product for its hygienic and easy usage pump dispenser opening. However, the cap does not fit properly on any of these bottles, but who cares it is a gift (I would better call it a gift rather than freebie as I have earned it), I will manage 😛

My Experience with The Body Shop Mango Body Whip:

Well, I believe we can convince any gal that we are good at shopping, but guys never get convinced by our shopping and calculations. I was so happy to get TBS tote bag and an opportunity to redeem deluxe size free gifts for 4 weeks and my hubby was like, why you behave like a no-sense shopper after listening or reading about free gifts 😛 Okay, I agree the tote was not in my wishlist (I was looking for a face scrub), but I will make use of it any way, what do you say gals?? 😉 😀 This is by far my best shopping this year, but he says I am a  no-sense shopper 😛 These retail industry guys can purchase a jumbo pack for saving a few bucks but can’t think beyond that, what a wastage of mind and money, hahh! Never mind, one day, he will surely agree with his wife, when he would get freebies for himself 😛

TBS mango whip

Coming over to the mango body whip, this is my first whip body lotion from TBS. I love mangoes and now this body whip infused with mango fruit extract, bole toh balle balle! It is an off white, pale yellowish colored fluid, neither thick nor runny which immediately sinks into the skin unlike heavy-textured body butters. It seems like a mango puree whipped in vanilla milk, yummy! Moreover, it has slightly strong vanilla mixed with mango smell which is not as overpowering as body butters. It seems strong for a few seconds and gradually fades leaving behind soft, matte skin. After using this light, runny body whip, I have changed my mind and thinking of sticking to lotions and whips irrespective of season (of course after finishing off body butters). They are much lighter and immediately sink into the skin unlike body butters which need rigorous massage and still leave slightly oily layer on skin. I mean I do not hate body butters, I own Honeymania and now vanilla bliss body butters and I absolutely love them, but ever since I tried this mango puree, I feel this formula will best suit my oily skin all year round.

TBS mango whip1

If you have ever tried TBS or other body whips, then you may understand my liking for them. This whip claims to be best for dry skin, but I feel it is good for oily skin as well, as it does not leave any layer on skin. I just need a tiny drop to smear on my skin and within a blink of my eye, it assimilates completely onto my skin. I also love the fact that it hydrates my skin for good hours even in the chilling drying weather here. I usually slather it post shower in morning, still it gives me soft moisturised body from dawn to dusk, isn’t it amazing? Overall, I have nothing to dislike about this joy of life.  I love it for the fact that it is light textured, highly moisturising whip and an ideal lotion for body care all year round. I would highly recommend this mango body whip to all of you.

Let’s sum up pros and cons:

Pros of The Body Shop Mango Body Whip:

  • A light textured body whip infused with goodness of mango fruit extract, my favourite fruit 🙂
  • The lotion immediately sinks into the skin without leaving any oily layer.
  • It takes care of dry patches very well apart from hydrating and moisturizing the body for a few hours.
  • Seems an ideal lotion for oily skin irrespective of winter/summer season.
  • Does not irritate skin, nor accentuate any skin issues.
  • A very mild vanilla infused mango fruity smell which is not as overpowering as their body butters.
  • All TBS products are against animal testing as far as I believe.
  • These products are always available on discount all year round at pretty affordable range.

Cons of The Body Shop Mango Body Whip:

  • Its pump dispenser packaging which once opened cannot be used while travelling; however, they have smaller bottles for travelling purpose.

As of now, I don’t feel any reason for skipping it apart from its messy pump dispenser opening. Looking at my body butter stock and now this full size bottle, I feel I should not shop body lotions for the next few months, let’s see how long I can resist myself 😛 I know my hubby won’t believe and could not stop laughing for he knows me better than myself! He is already bearing my madness; I will wake him up in middle of night and ask him what’s the date honey? And once he answers, I will keep on bugging him to get me to TBS store to redeem my next gift right in the middle of night. He just bangs his head on pillow! By the way third week has started, I need to rush for my 3rd gift now.  Meanwhile if you get chance to enter this scheme “joy of life,” then do enter and enjoy your gifts apart from trying this ultimate mango body whip (better late than never)!!! Happy merry crazy holidays gals 🙂
