The Body Shop – Shea Whip Body Lotion Review
Like everyone else here, I too went to grab some goodies in TBS sale and got hold of this Shea Whip body lotion in the smaller pack of 60 ml instead of the usual 250 ml. I have been using it from over 2 weeks now and thought of reviewing it.
According To The Body Shop:
Light and fluffy, this quick-absorbing, non-greasy whipped cream lotion, with rich and velvety natural ingredients, smoothes easily over the skin, leaving it feeling well moisturised, soft and supple. Suitable for very dry skin types.
245/- for 60ml. I got it at 10% discount for 220/-.

My Experience of the Shea Whip Body Lotion:
When I entered the TBS, I tried almost all the body lotions available therein, but picked up the Shea Body lotion again. I had already tried and still using the Shea Body butter and Shea body shower from TBS. I think I have got used to the smell of this shea a lot and even after trying all the other fragrances of body lotions available, I found this one to be the most appealing. Rest all smelled strange/sweet to me. 😐
Packaging consists of a clear plastic encasing with a tight flip-flop cap. The usual 250 ml bottle has a better pump dispenser. I got the smaller package of 60 ml and it was the last piece available and I wanted to try something else when this finishes. Thanks to my thinking then, as I am eyeing the new Body butter Duo for the winters. 😉
Texture of this body whip is like a thick body cream and I find it difficult to dispense the lotion through the flip-flop cap, so I think the pump dispenser is a better option, but even if the consistency is thick, this body lotion is pretty light and gets absorbed very quickly. It’s very moisturizing without being greasy; it has a great thick and smooth texture that absorbs easily. It makes skin extremely smooth and soft.
Thick texture and amount enough to cover one arm.
The scent is long-lasting, but not overpowering. It’s a really warm, comforting scent. I am very used to this fragrance now, so I find it quite soothing, but for some, the shea smell can be a little overpowering.
Lastly, it is great for dry and vey dry skin types. It provides the skin with enough moisturizing without being sticky at all. Once applied, the soft and smooth effect can be felt and seen for many hours and I don’t find a need for any extra moisturizing later in the day. For me, it solves the purpose of taking care of my dry skin clearly and effectively.
Pros of TBS Shea Whip Body Lotion:
• Nice consistency, thick yet light in texture.
• Easy to get absorbed into the skin.
• Long lasting and warm scent.
• Leaves the skin soft and smooth for many hours.
• Non sticky and non greasy lotion.
• Small amount needed at one go.
• Very effective for dry skin.
• Available in two convenient sizes.
• TBS is against animal testing.
Cons of TBS Shea Whip Body Lotion:
• The packaging of the smaller pack is a bit stiff.
• Shea smell can be uninteresting for some.
• High pricing compared to the other available brands.
Will I Repurchase:
Yes, as I already said that I find the scent appealing and also as it is a decently priced effective product among the other TBS lotions. I also want to try the new body butter duo, but only for the winters, rest, this body whip is working according to my expectations.
Lastly, I just wanted to attach the snap of my TBS Kabuki brush, which I got at 50% discount this week when I visited TBS again. I am extremely happy on getting this. :happydance: :happydance:
