My Take on Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick – Chocolat Songe:
The Chocolat Songe is a perfect brown with orange undertone that would look good on dusky beauties especially. I always prefer matte lipsticks over the glossy or shimmery ones for daily wear and for work and this is just perfect! Now, coming to the packing, it comes in a dark blue carton and the lipstick case is again the dark bluish matte finish case. Nothing interesting about the packing.
The lipstick glides on smooth, utterly butterly on the lips, giving the matte look. The texture of the lipstick is smooth and soft. It spreads out evenly and beautifully. Pigmentation is fair enough. A single swipe will not do any justice. I need to layer it at least 2-3 times and the staying power is 3-4 hours. This one being a super matte lipstick, I ensure I exfoliate my lips before I apply to prevent the “cracky” look of my lips.
The general tendency of matte lipsticks to dry out on the lips applies to this one as well. So, make sure you dab a little of lip balm and then layer this lipstick.
The lipstick smells very mild, pleasant and I like, though does not stay for a long time, may be just the moment you apply and then it fades off quickly.
Brown would make you look a little older, but club it with a dark brown eye shadow and contemporary accessories for a subtle everyday look.
What I Like about Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick – Chocolat Songe:
- The perfect matte finish, but do remember to exfoliate your lips.
- Smooth in texture and fairly pigmented.
- Feels light on the lips.
- Good staying power.
- Does not transfer much to cups or glasses.
- Mild smell, though that does not last long.
- Reasonably priced.
- Cruelty free.
- Contains jojoba oil and vitamin E and A.
- SPF 15.
Cons of Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick – Chocolat Songe:
- Boring packaging, though it looks sturdy.
- The ingredients list scares me a little. Contains parabens.
Overall, it’s a great matte lipstick and a must-have for people who are looking for matte lipsticks. Its a real value for money. There are plenty of other shades with interesting names and I’m going to pick them. I’m totally in love with this matte lipstick.
