My Experience with Chantecaille Loose Powder
It’s been a while I have bought a loose powder because my Chanel Loose Powder is such a star, I never end up giving anything else a chance. But this time since I was picking up a lot of products from Chantecaille, I thought I’d give this a go. And Boy! this bowled me over totally.

The powder comes packed in a basic silver tub. The cap fits just snugly on the jar so you can travel easily with it. There is a velvety soft powder puff that has a space to sit on top of the jar. A basic loose powder packaging. If you are not used to of using loose powders you’d find them messy. I am pretty used to of using them so I don’t mind them being a bit messy because they are just so good at what they do. Read my post on 5 Best Ways to use Loose Powder.

Chantecaille loose powder comes in two shades – light and subtle. I picked up Subtle, which is a light yellow toned loose powder. This is a sheer powder so it can be used for a whole lot of skintones. I would have still preferred if there were a deeper darker shade also available.

It is a satiny silky smooth powder. I mean if you pinch it between your finger tips you’d feel as if you are touching silk. It is free so no worries about it clogging pores. It is oil free so it can be used for all skin types. It is lanolin free so it is allergy free. All in all a class apart powder perfection.

I use it for setting my makeup, for baking my concealer, for catching any excess fall outs of eyeshadow, for making my lipsticks matte…you name it and I use it. I just take some powder in the cap and use it from there. This helps me in controlling the amount of product I want. It does not make your face oily, it makes your makeup last long, it prevents your concealer from creasing, it does not oxidise and it has never broken me out.

It is sheer and gives a very natural colour to the skin so that is absolutely brilliant. I don’t like powders that change the way your foundation looks. It gives a soft semi matte makeup look when applied overall. But since I am  fan of dewy face makeup, I mostly use it to set my concealer, and around the nose area. Sometimes I use it overall when I don’t feel like wearing makeup during these hot summer days. It gives a light evenness to the skin yet looking very natural.I love the light soft veil it gives to the skin without actually being noticeable. It feels very light on the skin, which I like the most. No funny fragrance.

It is not a mattifying powder but since I am wearing this during these  melting hot summer days, I notice that it does help in controlling the oil.  It does a decent job at keeping skin looking fresh but don’t take it a blotting powder or an oil controlling powder.

The powder puff is extra soft and cushiony. I mostly don’t use powder puffs but if you are a powder puff user, this almost feels heavenly. 😀
Overall, goes in one of my best product finds for this year. This stuff is just too good.
