My Experience with Clarins HydraQuench Cream For Normal To Dry Skin:

Clarins Hydraquench

It comes in a thick heavy glass bottle and has a nice floral smell which goes away after a few minutes. It is a rich white cream. On application, it glides on oh-so-smoothly and the skin drinks it up all and no trace or greasiness remains. I have combination skin and creams usually tend to make my skin look very oily, but this one did not.  The skin immediately looks healthier and all of the cream is absorbed into the skin. Since it is a rich cream, it might look greasy if you put more than what is needed.

In the above photo, you can clearly see that, the skin is not shiny after the cream is rubbed in. I use this in the morning and also at night since it does not have any SPF in it. My skin became noticeably softer after one week itself. I could really feel it while washing the face.

I was using this during the winter season and it is the best moisturizer I have used till date. If I use this in the morning, the skin will stay moisturized till evening and never once did I feel the need to reapply any moisturizer in between. It is that good! You will not find any dry flakes on your skin at all.

It has “hyaluronic acid” which is excellent for retaining moisture in the skin. I have read online that many celebrities are a fan of this cream 😉

This bottle will last for around 3 months if you are using it daily for two times a day. I bought this from Shoppers Stop in Pune, Camp. The lady also gave me 2 mini facials with Clarins products.  I got a few samples also as GWP, but they were teeny tiny samples of 5 ml and so I cannot say much about their effectiveness; however, I found this gem.

It is “One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser with Orange Extract.”  This is a scrub which polishes away make-up, dirt and dead cells in one step, revealing glowing skin. This is really a gentle scrub which does its task very effectively. It has very fine micro beads which does not irritate the skin at all. After the first wash itself, I could see my skin glowing. It can be used as a weekly scrub.

There is mask, tinted moisturizer, lip balm and serum also in this range.

Pros of Clarins HydraQuench Cream For Normal To Dry Skin:

  • Very moisturizing.
  • Does not leave the skin greasy if applied the right amount.
  • If applied in the morning, skin remains moisturized till evening.
  • Leaves the skin soft and supple and skin texture improves with continuous usage.
  • It did not break me out.

Cons of Clarins HydraQuench Cream For Normal To Dry Skin:

  • The price 🙁 , Rs. 2800 for 50 ml is too much, but luxury comes with a price tag I guess :haanji:
  • Since it comes in a jar, can be unhygienic if the hands are not clean.
  • Also, the jar is not so travel friendly.
  • It does not have any anti-aging or skin lightening properties, but it did make any such claims.

IMBB Rating:

I will give this product 5/5 and YESSS, I will definitely repurchase this as long as my budget (read husband’s) allows  😉

@Jomol: Even Kareena uses it. Here is what she had told about her skincare routine “I use a Lancôme face wash. I try to avoid creams because of their chemical content. In cold weather, I use Clarins’ HydraQuench Rich Cream, and on a beach I use a Clarins sunscreen. I don’t believe in facials.”

@shanaiia: I am sorry to hear that it broke you out 🙁 Actually hyaluronic acid is also present in our skin which helps us in retaining the moisture. So, some other ingredient might also have triggered the break out. Yeah, the price, I know :headbang:

@ Nupur: Thanks a lot. Yeah, do try some. Maybe you can ask the S.A if she can give a sample first before you buy it because of the money involved 🙂

@Rati: The good thing with this range is that they have different versions for different skintypes. Oily skinned beauties can try the gel version 🙂

  5. Thats right Smitha,it is indeed present in in our tissues and joints etc…but ive read that many people develop rash to HA when used externally..That’s why i think its the HA that broke me out 🙁
