Yes, I found BB Cream in Clinique! I didn’t realize it was always there on the Clinique counter since the time I had started buying stuff from them, but no problem, never too late 🙂 All of the brands are jumping into this “BB bandwagon” and most of them actually do not fulfill a single feature that’s required of a blemish balm/beauty balm. Let’s find out about this BB Cream from Clinique.
Product Description:
This instant morning routine gives skin just about everything it needs for a quick start.

What is BB Cream?
Age Defense BB (Beauty Balm) Cream offers SPF protection, antioxidants for prevention, plus enough coverage to banish imperfections. The perfect primer, too.
What Shade is right for you?
Very fair complexions with pink undertones, use Shade 01
Very fair to moderately fair complexions with golden undertones, use Shade 02
Moderately Fair to Medium with Golden Undertones, use Shade 03.
Price:
Rs. 1900 for 40 ml.

How To Use:
Mornings, apply to clean skin after 3-Step Skin Care and treatment serums. Squeeze a small amount of BB Cream onto palm and warm it up with your fingers. Apply sparingly, starting from the center of the face using semi-circular movements. Press gently to even out on skin. For gentle, efficient removal, use any Clinique makeup remover.
My Take on Clinique Age Defense BB Cream with SPF 30:
To begin with, this is a tinted cream and there are only three shades available – Shade 01, Shade 02, and Shade 03 with shade 01 for fair complexions and Shade 03 for darker skin tones. There’s 40 ml of product in this sturdy tube.
The consistency is a bit thick and pasty kind. This product is 100% allergy tested and fragrance free. Shade 03 was the darkest shade available and I picked it up. In the instructions, it is advised to use this BB cream after the CTM routine and then warm up the cream in the palm before applying so as to loosen it up a bit (I think). I dot it up on the face and unlike foundation, it is not to be used in downward direction, instead in semi-circular movements. For the initial few minutes, it looks stark white and pasty on the skin, but tones down close to the skin tone.
It provides medium coverage, but I think a few may not like the initial cakiness. This BB cream can be used as a primer beneath makeup and it helps the makeup stay for a longer time. It did not break me out, so it won’t break out even on the most oiliest or acne-prone skin. I can skip the foundation when I have this on because of the medium coverage it provides.
It does not moisturize the skin, in fact, I think it will feel dry in winters on all skin types including oily and combination skin.
Another feature of this BB cream is the SPF 30 protection, it provides good coverage from sun and has prevented tan.
There are a whole lot of ingredients, double the ingredients I have seen on any Clinique product. There’s xanthum gum, titanium dioxide, stearic acid, and everything else in there.
It also comes with the “antioxidants” tag, I checked through the ingredients list and found barley extract, wheat germ extract, caffeine, glycerin, linoleic acid, oryzanol, cholesterol, sucrose, lecithin.
It does not clear away imperfections over a span of time, that claim is a bit far fetched; this BB cream helps to hide blemishes, not clear them up.
Overall, I think its a pretty good BB cream, but you would not get all the characteristics of a glorified BB cream out of this one. There’s good sun protection and coverage and it won’t sweat out your face and would help makeup last longer, but on the flip side, there are only 3 shades available and you would have to check whether the initial whitish cast settles down to your skin tone. So, don’t buy this BB cream in a haste, instead, check out the sample first and then decide 🙂

Hmmmmm… This seems good 😀 But expensive for a BB cream… I’m liking my Garnier ka which is 99rs 😛 but ya I know after all it’s Clinique 🙂
I don’t like Garnier’s BB cream at all, bought it, used it, kept it somewhere *hihi*
Aww am confused whether have it or not *waiting*
Neetu….try the sample first…. *haan ji*
I thought Clinique only offered products for acne. I will give this a miss. It seems to be too expensive for a product that does not have all the characteristics of a BB cream, especially considering that it comes in limited shades. I will check out their other products though. Thank you for the review.
Rene…..you should check out other clinique products, they are some of the best 🙂 *announce*

Interesting…would you recommend this in summer?
Yes Shai….only in summers I think, but you would have to check if the whitish cast is too stark for you 🙁
