The Body Shop Vitamin C Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30 Review

Heylo,

Here is another review from my favourite brand “The Body Shop.” It is the Vitamin C Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30 Review

Product Description:

Hydrate and enhance your skin’s natural radiance while protecting it from damaging UV rays with a lightweight, easily-absorbed lotion.

Ingredients:

Water (Solvent/Diluent), Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (Sunscreen), Isododecane (Solvent), Octisalate (Sunscreen), Octocrylene (Sunscreen), Hydrogenated Polydecene (Skin Conditioning Agent), Glycerin (Humectant), Glyceryl Stearate (Emulsifier), Arachidyl Alcohol (Emulsion Stabiliser), Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane (Sunscreen), Caprylyl Glycol (Skin Conditioning Agent), Behenyl Alcohol (Emollient), PEG-100 Stearate (Surfactant), Arachidyl Glucoside (Surfactant/Emulsifying Agent), Cetyl Alcohol (Emulsifier), Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (Antioxidant), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Acrylamide/Ammonium Acrylate Copolymer (Binder), Fragrance (Fragrance), Xanthan Gum (Viscosity Modifier), Dimethicone (Skin Conditioning Agent), Polyisobutene (Binder), Myrciaria Dubia Fruit Extract (Skin-Conditioning Agent), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Sorbic Acid (Preservative), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Polysorbate 20 (Emulsifier), Sorbitan Isostearate (Emulsifier), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Benzyl Benzoate (Solvent), Potassium Sorbate (Preservative), Hexyl Cinnamal (Fragrance Ingredient), Citronellol (Fragrance Ingredient).

How To Use:

Contains Amazonian camu camu berry, which is known to have one of the highest contents of vitamin C in nature. Vitamin C encourages collagen production, improves elasticity and protects against damaging environmental aggressors. Sunscreens provide medium-level, broad-spectrum UVA and UVB sun protection. Community Trade sesame seed oil softens skin and strengthens skin’s natural defense system.

My Experience with The Body Shop Vitamin C Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30:

I bought this cream with very high expectations and hopes. I am a crazy fan of “The Body Shop” and I love almost all their products. I have tried most of their ranges except the ones for the matured skin. So far, it has done pretty well in my expectations, but this one is a slight letdown, but just a bit. I am still happy with it, but have few recommendations for it!

The best thing is the packaging in which the cream comes. It is a petite tube that is pretty handy to carry and is also lightweight. The tube is not air filled, so the cream comes out neatly. The cream is very light in texture and gets absorbed very easily. It has a slight citrusy fragrance which is decent. It moisturizes my skin nicely, so that is another plus, and yes, the SPF. It contains SPF 30 that gives some protection from the sun. The cream may not give you enough moisturization for dry winter season, but it certainly does a good job in keeping the skin moist and hydrated. It is also light to use, but some may find it heavy in summers.

The only little problem I have with this product is that it gives me a slight burning sensation for a few seconds. The sensation chills down in just moments though! My skin is a little sensitive, so maybe, the sensation is a problem only for sensitive skins and as per the claim, I have not noticed any radiance in my skin after 15 days of using the cream, maybe I will have to wait for a few more weeks.

Pros of The Body Shop Vitamin C Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30:

  • Cream is light, that is easily absorbed.
  • Contains high amount of vitamin C that is a boon for the skin.
  • It carries a light citrus-y fragrance.
  • Cream is quite moisturizing in nature.
  • Easy to carry around.
  • Contains SPF.
  • The tube goes a long way as just a drop is enough for one time application. As shown in the pic, this much is more than sufficient for one application.

Cons of The Body Shop Vitamin C Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30:

  • Gives a slight burning sensation.
  • It does give a shine, but it is temporary.
  • Price is on the higher side compared to the claims it makes.

Overall Recommendation:

This would be ideal for people who have dull and dry skin as it is a good moisturizer.

  2. Vish..

I am in A&N.. and here one time application works for the entire day! so that way it is really good. And yeah.. the sensation is particular to Vitamin C..

  3. i have really been wnating to try the body shop vit c range… but burning sensation… shouldnt your cream feel soothing once you apply it. :chewnails:

    1. Rati…

I thought so too.. and picked it up thinking ki thoda cooling sensation dega. but no.. :headbang: :headbang:

Though that slight burning sensation goes away in like 2 minutes but yes it DOES NOT give cooling feeling at all. I will not get it again.. Rs. 1150 gone!!! Or maybe its just my skin that feels it. You can try it at the store and check it out for yourself. Coz I feel the sensation the moment I apply it.

If you do, lemme know your experience..

  6. Surabhi, Even I feel let down by this cream. In winters it was fine. But since last 2 weeks in the weather transition to summers its making me sweat within 5-10 mins of application.Even me 😥 for the 1150 loss. 😥

  7. i’ll definitely buy this.I hope it will work as a descent day cream. 🙂 🙂 earlier i used jovees, lakme fruit moisture day cream bt all made my skin very dry. :headbang:

  8. I was looking for an organic face cream and when my best friend recommended the Vitamin C Moisturizer from the Made from Earth brand I bought it online. I figured it would make me break out, because most face lotions do. I decided to give it a chance anyway. The cream is a little heavier than most, and my skin is oily, so this was also a red flag for me.

But I was wrong! The cream absorbs quickly and is moisturizing, yet does not make me break out. In fact, I believe that it has helped clear my skin. This is an excellent Vitamin C cream, and not something to pass up.
