My Experience with Colorbar Orange Amber All-Day Lip and Cheek Color Blush Stick:
The blush comes in a regular metallic silver colorbar outer packaging. This outer packaging has almost each and every detail about the product like product description, ingredients list, etc. This outer carton has a color-coded band at its one end that helps to spot the shade easily in your stash. Inside this box comes a big fat crayon blush. The jumbo retractable crayon looks chubby and has a color-coded body with a silver base and cap. The cap fits tightly, which makes the crayon travel friendly. The crayon has a twist-up mechanism that works pretty fine. Overall, the packaging is good and travel friendly.
The shade “Orange Amber” is a warm-toned orange blush. The color suits my fair to medium skin tone with warm undertones well. The shade is subtle and gives a natural flush of color to the cheeks. It will not give you those clown cheeks. There is no sheen or shimmer in this blush. The formula is completely matte. The matte finish makes this blush even more wearable. It can be easily worn on a daily basis. Though the shade of the blush goes well with my skin tone, but I feel it will look more flattering on pale skin tones. The blush has average pigmentation. It is not insanely pigmented and requires multiple swipes to make the color more prominent. This can be considered both a pro and a con of this blush. It is a pro because it helps to build up the color intensity according to your own choice. Hence, you will not end up making clown cheeks. So, it is surely a great option for beginners. But, being less pigmented, it requires multiple swipes to build up the color. The color does not pop in one or two swipes. It requires some 3-4 swipes on my face to make the color pop. The color is easily buildable & blends effortlessly. Overall, it works great as a blush.
As, it is a lip and cheek stick, I tried it on my lips too and it did not work great as a lip color. Though, it has a creamy texture, so it glides all over the lip smoothly and sets to a powdery matte finish. But, its ultra matte formula dry out the lips badly. The color clings to the dry patches of the lips and highlights them badly. So, prior exfoliation and moisturizing is a must, if you are using it as a lip color. The pigmentation is average and it requires 3-4 swipes to show the color on the lips. It does not hide pigmented lips and the color gets patchy upon layering. The color settles into the fine lines of the lips. The lip color lasts on my lip for some 4 hours or so and gets patchy in the mean time.
The lip color does not survive meals and looks uneven after a full meal. You may see in the lip swatch attached below, how dry my lips look after prepping them properly. So, it fails to be used as a lip color for me, but it is a gorgeous, natural-looking blush.
The texture of the blush is nice. It is smooth and creamy. It glides smoothly on the skin. The blush is creamy but it does not make the skin any greasy or oily. It does not cast any oily sheath on the skin. So, it is a great option for oily skin too. The blush is very easy to blend and does not require that heavy blending of the product. It blends within seconds, giving a nice natural finish. It never gets patchy and looks even. The formula is creamy and non-drying. It gives a subtle glow to my cheeks. The shade is pretty much wearable at any time of the day.
The blush lasts for around 5-6 hours or so on my skin with proper base makeup. The blush stays in place all the time and as fresh and natural as it is freshly applied. It is very easy to remove. It comes off very easily using a make up remover. Overall, the blush is nice and creamy, but I had expected it to be more pigmented. Also, it fails to serve as a good lip color.
