Hey my favorite ladies!
Recently Coloressence has upped its makeup game. To compete with more prominent players, they have launched new products at affordable prices. I am loving their Intense Long Wear Lipsticks. While buying some shades of the same, I spotted this Coloressence Eyes Spy Kajal Pencil, which I am reviewing for you.
Price:
INR 145
Packaging:
The packaging is classy and convenient. The black kajal pencil comes properly sealed in a cardboard pack, which is a pretty pink and black colored one. All the product details are written at the back of the cardboard pack. I must say, it’s simple yet functional and elegant.
My Experience with Coloressence Eyes Spy Kajal Pencil:
The kajal pencil is not like the regular cylindrical ones. It is more of a long cuboidal structure, which makes it convenient to place on flat surfaces. It doesn’t roll off! It is retractable, which is a boon for me, as I hate sharpening the pencils after each use. Also the retractable mechanism is quite good since there is no hassle in swiveling the thin bullet up or down. There is a tiny sharpener attached to the end of the pencil.
The tip of the kajal is thinner than most kajals or kohls so you can draw precise strokes. The kajal comes off as a deep black color, not as pigmented and opaque as Lakme Absolute Kohl, but goes pretty deep in two strokes. Since it draws thinner lines, I prefer going back a couple of times to thicken the line as well as build up the black color. With two strokes, you get a beautiful rich matte black color.
It isn’t very creamy nor is it hard. It doesn’t match up to the soft gliding texture of the L’Oréal eyeliners but it gives control over the application and is quite comfortable on the eyes. There is no tugging or pulling and, after a couple of uses, it goes quite smoothly on eyelids. It isn’t completely waterproof, but a couple of splashes of water won’t hurt or reduce the intensity. However if you end up rubbing after splashing water, you will end up with raccoon eyes. It isn’t smudge proof, however you won’t notice much difference if you don’t rub your eyes much. For people who have watery eyes or are prone to rubbing frequently, this is definitely not for you.
It has decent staying power. It can stay on my oily lids for 5 hours without fading but with slight fading. If you prime your eyes and use a setting powder, you can definitely extend the wear time by a couple of hours at least. Again, on my waterline, it stayed for three hours, after which it started to fade. Thankfully it didn’t smudge much, or I would need to remove it with a makeup remover wipe. Removing this kajal is easy, any makeup remover can do this job.
Pros of Coloressence Eyes Spy Kajal Pencil:
• Inexpensive
• Deep black color
• Nice texture
• Decent staying power
• Good pigmentation
• Does not cause any sensitivity
• Resistant to water
• Retractable
Cons of Coloressence Eyes Spy Kajal Pencil:
• Doesn’t stay for long on the waterline
• Not for oily lids, needs to be set with some powder
• Rubbing would lead to raccoon eyes
• Not completely waterproof or smudge proof
IMBB Rating:
3/5
