Coloressence Pearl Effect Eye Shadow Pencil – Antique Gold
Hello beautiful ladies,

Today I will be reviewing a cream Eyeshadow in gold. The shadow is from coloressence and it is in the form of a pencil. It is called ‘Coloressence Pearl Effect Eye Shadow Pencil’ and the color I will talk about is called’ Antique Gold’. One of my earliest eye shadows were cream shadows formulated into a stick, they were from Oriflame. Then I started liking the NYX jumbo pencils, but when I saw this I thought of giving it a try. I have a gold cream shadow called Bold Gold, one of the Maybelline’s 24 color eye tattoo, but due to long nails I am unable to dig my fingers into the pot and so I thought of trying the gold color from coloressence (which is in a pencil form and thus more convenient to use)

My take on Coloressence Pearl Effect Eye Shadow Pencil Antique Gold:
I didn’t expect much from this product referring to the way it will look on me as I knew that I have to use it beneath my shadow, as a base, but I wanted it to be with long staying power and I hoped that it won’t crease. All my hopes were almost fulfilled by this color, it stays for a long time, and it doesn’t crease at all for 3-4 hours, after which it might start creasing. But the point I was least bothered about (the way it will look on me) made this product a ‘NO’ for me. The pencil is easy to apply, and it is smooth enough to spread and blend easily. It can be applied directly like a crayon or a brush/ finger can be used to blend it into the skin. In both the situations it looked terrible on me.
When I applied it and blended it using my finger, it gave my eyes a tone of golden yellow which made me look as if I am suffering from jaundice. I tried to layer it up with a highly pigmented golden color, but no effect. I even tried to mix a little bronze to make it look better, but I was not satisfied with the look.
Pros of Coloressence Pearl Effect Eye Shadow Pencil – Antique Gold:
• Affordable
• Smooth to apply
• Easy to blend
• Does not crease for a long time
• Good pigmentation
• Retractable, thus no need to sharpen the pencil.
Cons of Coloressence Pearl Effect Eye Shadow Pencil – Antique Gold:
• Packaging can be improved
• No ingredients mentioned
• Doesn’t look good on me.
Would I buy this Coloressence Pearl Effect Eye Shadow Pencil – Antique Gold again?
Everything about this shadow is good except the way it looks on me and thus I would not buy this color ever again. I might not even buy other colors from this range as there are just 5-6 colors and I do have similar colors in my collection.
Do I recommend Coloressence Pearl Effect Eye Shadow Pencil – Antique Gold?
It is a good product for this price range, but I would suggest you to try out some other color before going for antique gold.
