Hey lovely ladies,
I am back with another liquid lipstick for you – did I just hear a collective groan?? Just to give you a head’s up – a couple more reviews are on their way, so please bear with me! 😛 This one is from the Colourpop range and is from the newer formula. I don’t know what has gotten into me! I have become like a Rocket! No, I am not reaching for the stars! Instead, I don’t seem to be doing anything till my a** is on fire! I seriously need a push!

My Experience with Colourpop Bad Habit Ultra Matte Lip:
The product comes in a lip gloss kind of packaging – like most liquid lipsticks do. The difference between this and other liquid lipsticks in the market is that the packaging has been kept simple and bare minimum. There is just the shade name on the bottom and the brand name on the side of the tube. It comes packaged in the standard Colourpop white outer box. In short, packaging is simple and efficient. The applicator is a doe-foot applicator – refer to the pics. Since the length of the tube and hence the applicator is not too long – it makes for easy and precise application.
Color: The shade “Bad Habit”, is described as a “dusty mauve pink.” On me, it looks like a pink-toned purple with hints of berry. The shade is absolutely STUNNING!! I seriously love my purples. It is not neonish, it’s too deep for that, but it instantly brightens up your face. Look at the OOTD – the cool tones of the lipstick make my face look so much brighter. The shade should work across a variety of skin tones – with ease.
Texture: Having tried a few Colourpop shades, I feel their formula lacks consistency – it literally varies from shade to shade. Like “Scrooge,” this one is also from the newer shade range and the texture feels consistent with Scrooge, it’s quite thin and liquid-y. If I apply a very thin layer, it dries down relatively fast and to an almost matte finish. If I use a little bit more product, it does not dry down completely. It kind of retains a bit of wetness. Either ways, the formula is not drying. It is quite comfortable to wear.
Pigmentation: Pigmentation is extremely extremely good!!! It’s one of the most pigmented shades where a little does go a long way – just like Scrooge. As I have mentioned earlier, if you apply a thin layer, you get a better feel of the texture. And honestly, with this, you really do need very little, since the shade is so so pigmented.
Staying Power: Here is my gripe with this shade. While everything about the formula is similar to their shade “Scrooge,” two things were amiss. Around the 4-5 hour mark, it starts disappearing from the inner portion of the lower lip. This might not be something unique to the lip shade. However, unlike Scrooge, it doesn’t leave a stain. Meaning, when it does start to disappear, it goes. So, considering how bright the shade is, when it disappears from the inner portion of the lip, it isn’t too becoming. Also, around this time, it starts transferring. Yup, you heard that right. It starts transferring like a normal satin lipstick. You can easily do a touch up – it will not look patchy. You do not need to remove the entire lipstick and reapply. It layers well. However, this new layer will not dry down entirely. It will continue to have a little tackiness.

Cons of Colourpop Bad Habit Ultra Matte Lip:
- Wear time isn’t too long.

A 3.8/5 product.
It’s a bit of a catch-22 for me. You know transference is my pet peeve. However, the shades are way too stunning to ignore. You really need to weigh out your options and decide whether the shade is worth the hassle. For me, I love the shade. I just ensure I wear it when I know it’s for a shorter window. If I want my lipstick to last the whole day, I just avoid this one.
