Lakme was flashing its ‘Lip Tint’ or ‘Lip Pout’ range on Instagram every day which was making me curious to grab this newly launched product. I love lip crayons more than lipsticks. I don’t know why this one reminds of my Maybelline 410 Fab Orange Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil, and fortunately I got this range in one of the Lakme stores in my city. Let’s me introduce you to these new lippies. 🙂
It’s time for the backstage trend to take center stage as Lakme introduces its very own playful take on lip tints. Say hello to Lakmé Absolute Lip Pouts – a chubby lip colour pencil that gives you a luscious tint with a scintillating matte finish. Available in 6 classic matte colours, Lakme Absolute Lip Pouts is your go-to lip tint for that effortlessly vibrant and playful look.

My Experience with Lakme Absolute Tangerine Touch Lip Tint Matte:
The packaging is very similar to Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm and nowadays almost all the brands have the same packaging for matte or tinted balms. The color of the tube represents the true shade of the lip color. It is housed in an orange plastic retractable tube which is matte in appearance. It consists of a silver cap which, I suppose, is made up of lightweight metal. Retractable tube saves the product a lot as sharpening is not required. The shade name is mentioned at the bottom of tube .
These lippies do not stand up to the claims made by the brand! It is very difficult to apply on lips. It tugs the lips during application and highlights the dry patches too. The lip color crumbles on lips which is very minimal and not very visible. The formula is not as creamy as I had expected, it’s nothing like Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms or Maybelline Color Drama Lip Pencil.
There is a huge difference while swatching the product on your hand and on lips. When I first swatched this lip tint at the back of my hand, it goes on smooth and pigmented. But, the exact reverse happens when swatched on the lips. It does not look opaque with just a single swipe and requires at least 3 to 4 swipes to build actual color. It may take two swipes for fair skinned beauties especially if they are not having pigmented lips. Overall, the formula is not creamy enough to give full opacity with just a single swipe.
I was overexcited to use this lip tint as usually I stay away from Lakme and this is the second product from this brand in my stash. It really disappointed me in terms of pigmentation. I was expecting superb pigmentation. Tangerine touch is a perfect orange and best for summer, or should I say it’s a beach color. It suits all skin tones across the globe. It suits me as well. ? These lippies are absolutely matte in finish, there is no sheen to it when applied on lips. These go absolute matte in one swipe which is pro for me.
It doesn’t cover up pigmented lip and needed to be rubbed over and over to get the desired amount of color. The product accumulates into the lines of my lips after few hours of application. It has very very light, floral scent which I adore. The lips need to be exfoliated and moisturised before applying these lippies as dry patches can make you feel awkward. Initially, when applied, it feels hydrated but almost after an hour my lips become dry. The ‘yay’ factor for me is its minimal transfer. It takes time to set and once set, it transfers just minimally. These are not transferproof, but while eating or drinking these do not transfer a tonne.
I find these pretty long wearing provided I do not eat or drink a lot. It stays on for about 3 hours with snacking and drinking, but the color completely wears off after a meal. The color fades away very unevenly, to be specific when the color fades it left an orange stain on my lips which looks very odd. I think with just snacking, it can stay for good 5 to 6 hours.
Pros of Lakme Absolute Tangerine Touch Lip Tint Matte:
• Beautiful, wearable shade that suits all skin tone
• Very mild floral scent
• Absolutely matte, great for matte lovers
• Transfers just a little once set
• Do not budge or feather once set
• Decent staying power, say for 5 to 6 hours with snacking and drinking
• Feels very lightweight on lips
• Retractable tube packaging
• Color coded packaging
Cons of Lakme Absolute Tangerine Touch Lip Tint Matte:
• Poor pigmentation
• Poor opacity
• Tugs during application
• The color needs to be built up over and over
• Does not glide on lips
• Poor pigmentation
• Gets accumulated into the lip lines and makes them dry
• Does not cover pigmented lips
• Very limited shade range available; I thinks only 6 shades
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Lakme Absolute Tangerine Touch Lip Tint Matte?
Never! There are numerous better matte balms and tints available in India. You can’t resist this range if you are lip color junkie, like me. Go for it only if you can bear with these cons.
I think these are the products for the beauties who just need a hint of color on their lips that resembles their natural lips and that cover pigmentation too. Being matte in texture, it can be a good option for them. Most of the tinted lip balms do the same job, but have glossy effect on lips due to their moisturising properties. Lakme tinted balms can be a good option for college and school going girls who love to have colorful lips.
Keep rocking and take care!
