ColourPop is one of the most hyped liquid lipstick brands in the market. ColourPop offers good quality products at an affordable price range. I purchased ‘Donut’ since I loved how the colour looked on their website. So, let’s see how this one fared for me.

How to Use:
Step 1: Make sure your lips are bare and dry!
Step 2: Apply matching lip pencil for a precise and perfected application.
Step 3: Apply Ultra Matte Lip with the applicator or your favourite lip brush.
My Experience with ColourPop Donut Ultra Matte Lip:
ColourPop has rapidly become one of the most popular brands for liquid lipsticks. The quality of the product is fantastic and the colour selection is vast. There is a lipstick shade that will complement every type of skin tone. ColourPop also ships to India. However, the customs are too high.
Packaging: The packaging is pretty standard clear tube with holographic writing on the side – ColourPop Ultra Matte. The bottom of the tube specifies the name, Donut. The tube has a silver cap. The applicator is a standard doe foot one. The product comes in a white cardboard box with the name of the product and the ingredients list.
Texture and Application: The texture of this liquid lipstick is very thin and liquidy. It dries matte within seconds once applied on the lips. So if you make any error during the application, correcting it is a task. The doe foot applicator makes it easy to fill in the corners of the lips with ease. There is a chemical fragrance to the lipstick which personally doesn’t bother me. Once the liquid lipstick dries, it has a powdery feel to it.
I had a very difficult time applying Donut since it’s very patchy. I had to apply more than two coats and, in the end, it left my lips so dry that I had to remove the lipstick. The main thing is not to apply more than one coat of this lipstick. You also need to exfoliate your lips else the lipstick might look crumbly. If your lips feel really dry, a lip balm can be used as a top coat. However, this will affect the longevity of the lipstick.
Pigmentation and Coverage: The lipstick is pigmented but not opaque. One swipe doesn’t give me full coverage and multiple swipes make it look worse.
Shade and Finish: The shade is described as a ‘bright peach’ and it is indeed a very beautiful peachy shade. However, this shade won’t complement most of the Indian skin-tones. The lipstick will dry ultra-matte. The finish of the shade is patchy and this lipstick is not at all comfortable to wear.
Staying Power: The staying power is okay. It stays on for around 4 hours without the need of reapplication. I personally was not able to wear this lipstick for long since it literally dried my lips. The lipstick can be easily removed with an oil based makeup remover.
