This is my first lipstick from the budget-friendly brand called Covergirl. The brand claims that this ‘Outlast All-Day Long Lasting Lip Color’ range remains smudge-proof, kiss-proof, and transfer-resistant all day long. So, let’s see if it lives up to all its tall claims.

How to Apply:
Step 1
Apply an even layer of the All-Day Colorcoat, then wait until it dries completely (about a minute or so).

My Experience with Covergirl Outlast All-Day Long Lasting Lip Color 720 Beaming Berry:
The Covergirl Outlast All-Day Long Lasting Lip Color comes in a two-piece set, which includes an all-day color coat and a moisturizing top coat. When I checked their official website, I was surprised to see that this range has a total of 41 different shades. This, again, was one of the gifts I received from my Dubai relative.
When it comes to buying lipsticks or lip glosses for myself, I am very particular about a few brands. I always like and prefer buying lipsticks from MAC, Colorbar, and NYX. Even though I liked the pressed powder from this brand I wouldn’t have purchased a lipstick from Covergirl even if it were available in India. When I first saw the lip set I was sure how it would perform since I’ve used a similar product earlier.
This lip set reminds me of L’oreal Infallible Never Fail Lipstick, which failed to impressed many. When I first tried this set by Covergirl on my lips my assumption about how this lip color would fare on me happened to be true. It fared exactly how I thought it would. The formulation of the lip color is very bad, in my opinion, and it does not glide easily on my lips.
The texture of the lip color is sticky and the consistency is on the thicker side. I had to apply the lip color multiple times and only then the color became visible. It took some time for it to settle on the lips afterwards. When the color finally became visible it looked flaky and dry on my lips. I tried applying the lip balm after a minute, as instructed on the cover, but it failed to moisturize my lips.
Even though the lip balm feels quite oily and greasy it fails to moisturize my lips and appears more like a sheer topcoat over the lip color. It works better as a lip balm on bare lips, without the lip color. I feel the formulation of this lip color itself is so bad that any good lip balm or topcoat would fail.
I also tried applying the lip color the other way as instructed, i.e. the topcoat/balm first and the lip color above it. But this obstructed the lips from holding the lip color and it looked bad this way, too. My lips felt heavy after some time of application and it appeared as if my lips lacked moisture for years.
The packaging is decent and functional but not very impressive. I like the color and it looks vibrant, too. It is quite pigmented, but as I’ve told you, it requires multiple swipes to actually be properly visible. Maybe that’s the result of the poor formulation of the lip color. I wonder why they’ve named it ‘Berry’ when it isn’t a berry shade at all. It is a pretty coral shade with light pink undertones.
Had the formulation of this shade been good, it shade would have been a stunner! I can say it through my experience that this one is definitely a long lasting lip color. It took me two complete days to remove the lip color swatch from my hand. I tried water, coconut oil and makeup remover but nothing worked.
It is so hard to remove the product from the lips, too. In case you desire to try another lip color you would have to burn a lot of calories for it (just kidding). It does live up to its claims of being smudge-proof, transfer-resistant and long-lasting. But I feel there’s no point of having these qualities if the formulation itself is bad. Investing in lip colors like these is an utter waste of money.

No! Please skip this product and buy something better for yourself as this is the worst lip color I’ve ever come across.
