DKNY Be Delicious Body Lotion Review

DKNY Be Delicious (Green Apple) is one of the iconic original scents that were launched by Donna Karan in the Be Delicious range. The perfume is one of my go-to scents to wear anywhere and at any time of the year. It is one of my absolute favourites. However, the EDP is already reviewed on IMBB. So, this review is about the body lotion in the Green Apple scent.

Price:

I got the 50ml EDP + 100 ml Body lotion as a gift set in a cute box. When I searched online, the 2 pieced set retailed for around $45 – $60. Quite pricey!

The body lotion alone is for around Rs.2500 on Indian sites.

Top notes: Violet Leaf, Apple, Grapefruit and Magnolia

My Experience with DKNY Be Delicious Body Lotion:

First off, I am a diehard fan of DKNY Be Delicious perfume. It is light when used moderately, smells amazing and is unbelievably long lasting. I am a person that never repeats buying a fragrance I have already used. However, with this perfume, I loved the scent so much that I bought another bottle of the EDP for myself; with a gift voucher I had. Also, I bought Bath and Body Works’ Beautiful Day mist for the sole reason that it was compared to Be Delicious. I wear it every alternate day at least and variate around with other fragrances in between. It lasts for ages!

Even after raving so much about the heavenly smell, I have to inform you that the body lotion is a huge dud. It is an absolute waste of money. It smells like an apple gone bad + some chemicals + stale body lotion. I thought that I could at least use the lotion for layering my already long-lasting EDP; to make it last even longer. But, the smells from the EDP and the lotion reacted badly and left me smelling absolutely disgusting. I was in a mall when this happened and had to run to the washroom to scrub my wrists off this horrible mess of a product. This is a huge shocker for a product that is supposed to be used in association with the EDP, since it came as a set!

However, I compared notes with a friend who bought this same set, since she is a DKNY fan. It seems that her lotion is wearable, though not too pleasant smelling compared to the EDP. I guess my batch went bad or something. However, I’m happy since my EDP smells normal and fine.

Pros of DKNY Be Delicious Body Lotion:

• None except the brand name and it’s packaging.
• Can be used for layering with the EDP, however my batch went bad I guess.

Cons of DKNY Be Delicious Body Lotion:

• Extremely pricey, I would never have bought this lotion with my own money.
• Smells bad, like the lotion has gone bad or something.
• No moisturizing power whatsoever.
• Consistency is too runny and watery to be a lotion.
• Cannot even be used with the EDP it came in a set with, smells bad together.

IMBB Rating:

0.5/5 (For it’s brand name and it’s packaging. More so because I couldn’t give it a zero! 🙁 ).

Would I repurchase DKNY Be Delicious Body Lotion?

Definitely not. It does a bad job as a moisturizer and smells gross compared to the actual EDP.
