It’s been almost 2 months since my last article since I have been super busy, although I have been constantly checking all the cool new articles posted here everyday. I’m back in Mumbai from my long vacation and I’m going to be writing reviews on all the products I have hauled! 😀
Today’s product is my current go-to palette and it’s called the “Little Black Beauty Book.” This is slightly different from the previous Little Black Books since this is an “Eye Edition.” The older palettes had lip glosses on one side and eye shadows on the other.
The eye shadows come in a dark cardboard case designed like a little book. It contains 48 eye shadows and a tiny mirror attached inside and a small sponge applicator. This palette is pretty small (almost the size of any smart phone) and can fit into any handbag. In the photos, I have compared the size with my Sony camera cover to show you how small this palette is. This palette contains a variety of shades in different textures such as matte, shimmery, frosty and satin finish.
My Take on ELF Essential Little Black Beauty Book Eye Edition in Cool:
This palette contains all the colors that I use on a day-to-day basis and the best part is that they are neither too bright nor too dark. I can create a neutral day look by using the peach, nude, champagne and warm pink. A bright look for the day can be created using all the blue, orange and pink shades provided. For a glamorous evening look, the silver, copper, purple, gold and black make the best bet. Since it is super small in size and has a mirror attached, I can carry it along with me wherever I go. The sponge applicator is quite useless for me since I only use brushes.
A few shimmery eye shadows have a fall-out problem, so dabbing a bit of loose powder below the eyes prior to application is a must. Although, I can’t really complain since I am getting 48 amazingly pigmented eye shadows for 6 dollars! The most pigmented eye shadows are the ones that are matte, satin and frosty. I have swatched all the 48 eye shadows with primer in the photos. The staying power of these eye shadows is pretty good. When applied on the eyelids with primer, they stay on all day without creasing or fading away. This palette comes in 4 different editions – Day, Night, Cool and Warm.
Overall, ELF has done an amazing job with improving the quality of their “Little Black Book’s and replacing those hideous lip glosses with more eye shadows. I am very impressed with this palette and I can’t wait to try out the other editions in this.
