EOS Medicated Lip Balm – Tangerine Review

By Virtee Parekh

Hey there!
I have always been more of a lip balm person rather than lipsticks. Not that I don’t love them but somehow I don’t fancy wearing a lipstick on a daily basis. It’s just too cumbersome for the lazy girl in me for daily college wear! I prefer using plain lip balms or the tinted ones. I love how soft my lips feel and if the lip balm has a tint it’s just perfect for regular wear. Anyways, I had heard a lot about the EOS lip balms and was dying to get my hands on one such piece. Taking advantage of an e-commerce portal sale, I finally managed to get my hands on it! I purchased the EOS Medicated Lip Balm in the Tangerine flavor. So let’s dive into the details and my experience of the EOS lip balm!

My Personal Experience with EOS Medicated Lip Balm – Tangerine:

I think the main reason why so many people go crazy about EOS is the super cute egg shape! It’s really adorable and super cute and I must admit that it was one of the reasons why I bought it! However I’m not all that impressed with this particular flavor. It’s a good one but not the best. The first thing that strikes you about the Medicated Tangerine is the medicated, strong fruity smell emanating from it. So if you’re okay with that, then this smell wouldn’t bother you. On application, it feels really creamy.

Compared to the other lip balms that I’ve used previously (The Body Shop and Maybelline Baby Lips), I felt that this one doesn’t stay on your lips for long. So you need to reapply it for quite a number of times. After your initial application, you would feel that it didn’t really hydrate your lips as much as you’d hoped. This particular balm is medicated with phenol which is supposed to help to prevent your lips from chapping. After using it for few more days, I did notice that it did prevent my lips from chapping. This was a good plus point. You have to be patient with this lip balm to work its magic!
The other thing that bothers me is that it is only available online! Also I don’t think that it is worth the cost. A small disadvantage for me is that I cannot carry it in the pockets of my jeans due to the egg shape! Need a bag for it all the time! Also while browsing through some online reviews, customers have reported negative reactions which could be because this one is medicated. To summarize, I wouldn’t purchase this flavor again. If you do want to try EOS, you could try some of their other lip balms which do have good reviews.

Pros of EOS Medicated Lip Balm – Tangerine:

• This lip balm is medicated with phenol which prevents chapping of lips.
• It has jojoba oil and shea butter which work wonders for the skin and lips due to their high nutritional quality.
• Feels creamier on application and does prevent chapping of lips.

Cons of EOS Medicated Lip Balm – Tangerine:

• Not available in any store. Can be purchased online only.
• Expensive for a lip balm.
• No tint in the balm.
• Does not contain any SPF.

Quick Tip:
Exfoliate your lips regularly and then apply lip balms to keep them soft, supple and un-chapped. Gently rub little amount of baking soda on your lips to exfoliate and to remove the dead skin. Clean with water, apply your lip balm and you will see that your lips are much softer.

IMBB Rating: 3.5/5

Would I Recommend EOS Medicated Lip Balm – Tangerine: I would not recommend this flavour but I would like to try some of EOS other products.
