Liquid lipsticks are all the rage and it does not seem to die down any time soon! But can you imagine a liquid lipstick for less than 200 bucks?? Yes, you read that right! Presenting a new lip product launch by Essence called the Essence Liquid Lipstick, in the shade “Make A Statement.” Let’s have a look.

Liquid love! This new formula combines the best of both lipstick and lip gloss. Get the impact and coverage of a lipstick with the moisturizing shine of a gloss.

My Experience with Essence Make A Statement Liquid Lipstick:

Packaging: This liquid lipstick comes housed in a chubby little square tube similar to the Maybelline Color Elixirs! The tube contains 0.13 oz of lipstick. The applicator is made from sponge, with both of the faces flat which I like more than regular doe-foot applicators, because this one gives me more control and ease of application. I simply love the color-coded packaging and how the lid matches the shade. This makes for easy grabbing one particular shade when one has a zillion lip products!! All in all, the packaging is adorable in my opinion.

Color: The shade “Make A Statement” is a beautiful neutral-toned reddish-pink shade. It sure is a gorgeous wearable colour that can be beautifully paired with any eye look or outfit. It leans slightly towards plum tone on me, which makes it look prettier.

Pigmentation: When I swatched this shade on the back of my hand, it looks almost like a lacquer with the sheer shine and opacity and that looks stunning. However on the lips, this lipstick sheers beautifully with medium coverage. Overall, I would say the pigmentation is a hybrid of a lipstick and a lip gloss!

Texture: This baby is nothing like the liquid lipsticks that are in the market. Essence has a new take on liquid lipstick which has a very thick formula that is a super pigmented lipstick-gloss, if you know what I mean! Usually, liquid lipsticks tend to have a velvety matte formula, but Essence goes with more of a thicker, stickier, tacky gloss formula. Frankly speaking, I love this formulation! Since this has the coverage of a lipstick with the shine of a gloss, this baby is right up my alley. I love a glossy finish!

Longevity: Thanks to the tacky formula, it delivers a good colour pay-off for a solid 4 hours, post which the shine does fade away some. The best thing is that the color doesn’t migrate around and the formula remains pleasantly moist through the wear which is quite hydrating for a liquid lipstick.

Cons of Essence Make A Statement Liquid Lipstick:

• Not a liquid lipstick, per say!
• If you do not like tacky lip products, then it’s a con.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Essence Make A Statement Liquid Lipstick?
Essence liquid lipstick isnt’ the most perfect liquid lipstick formula, but I really like it a lot as it provides great pigmentation with shine and the semi-tacky formulation increases longevity and all this at a very affordable price tag! What else can you ask for? Go grab it ladies, you will not regret!!
