I bought the top coat and base coat for lashes from Etude House. I recently reviewed the top coat on IMBB and did not have a lot of good things to say about it. Fortunately, I had a better experience with the base coat and have a lot better things to say about it. A lot of brands offer such kind of lash products, but I have never indulged in them. These two products from Etude House caught my eye while I was adding other Korean brand products to my online cart and decided to give them a try as well. This review is about the base coat that I have been trying for over a month now.

My Experience with Etude House Oh My Eye Lash Base Coat:
The product comes in a mascara-like packaging. The opaque, white tube, that holds the product is slender and has a white cap on top. The cap holds the lash comb/wand and is neither too thick or too skinny – just the right size and serves its purpose well. It is a generous size tube and looks like the product will last a while. The product is white in color adds a white, paste like layer on the lashes. It adds length and volume to lashes and the white color helps the black mascara stand out in a more appealing manner.
I enjoy Etude House skincare products and they seem to work well on my skin and are also easy on my pocket, hence I decided to give a try to their makeup line as well. I bought a bunch of makeup products from this brand and one of them is this mascara or lash base coat. I have mentioned in my previous reviews of Korean makeup that this particular brand’s main feature is subtleness, imparting a natural yet radiant look to face. They do not like dramatic look or over=exaggerated features. Their products, however, do help in adding extra volume and drama to lashes. The white color at the base makes the black of the mascara appear more black (blackest black).
I have previously reviewed mascaras from brands like TonyMoly and Missha and they were a letdown for me because they were a bit too subtle for me, but this one by Etude House is as per my liking. When I applied it on bare lashes, it applied a uniform white layer on them which adds volume and provides a primer base for further mascara application.
Pros of Etude House Oh My Eye Lash Base Coat:
- The ingredient list is clearly disclosed in English. This product contains water and beeswax as high-percentage ingredients.
- Affordable and worth a try.
- It is a product for those who like to add more volume and intensity to their lashes.
- Wand is neither too thick or too skinny and serves the purpose well.
- This product acts as a good primer base for mascara application.
Cons of Etude House Oh My Eye Lash Base Coat:
- Availability can be an issue for some but some Korean websites do ship to India as well.
- This product is not essential for those who have a thick eyelashes to begin with.
- The wand needs regular cleaning since the white color mascara base does gather color from other products.
- The wand does not pick a lot of product in one go and needs to be dipped again and again into the tube.
Would I Recommend Etude House Oh My Eye Lash Base Coat?
I recommend it to those who need to add extra volume and intensity to their lashes. I enjoy wearing this product, it is affordable and is definitely worth a try.
