Etude House Mascara Remover Review

Hi IMBBians,

I love to wear makeup every day and never step out with bare face. But, I wish removing makeup was just as fun, especially stubborn, water-proof eye makeup. I find the eye makeup removal process a bit messy and sometimes painful, because of all the extra tugging and pulling of the lid and the lashes. To avoid all this mess, I decided to put some extra effort in finding the right kind of eye makeup remover designed specifically for the delicate eye area, and also the one that does not irritate eyes. As a part of that search and also as a part of Korean skin care haul, I bought this Etude House eye makeup remover.

My Experience with Etude House Mascara Remover:

I usually use Equate makeup remover wipes to remove my face makeup and for eyes, I have used various kinds of makeup removers such as micellar water, The Body Shop Gentle eye makeup remover and Estee Lauder eye makeup remover, but since they all failed me at some level or the other, I decided to keep searching for the right kind or “gentle” eye makeup remover.

Etude House Mascara Remover Review Product Name

The product comes in a clear plastic bottle with a pink color cap. Packaging is a big let down because, the opening dispenses a lot of product at a time and causes a lot of spillage. I wish it had a smaller opening or a spray nozzle or something to prevent product wastage.

The consistency of the product is like a micellar water – water based medium with oil floating on top. The bottle should be shaken well to evenly distribute the product and then apply it on the eyes using a cotton pad. Let the soaked cotton pad sit on the eye lids for a few seconds to break down the water-proof makeup, and then wipe it off. This is the recommended usage of oil based makeup removers. I used it the same way and tried to remove my eyeliner and mascara and the results were surprisingly satisfactory. I had hoped to get squeaky clean waterline and lashes and that did happen. The best part is that it removed kohl from my waterline without too much tugging or rubbing and did not irritate my eyes at all like most eye makeup removers irritate my eyes and turn them red and watery.

For me, the biggest concern was the gentleness of the eye makeup remover and it lives up to it. It is an affordable eye makeup remover and does what it claims to do. So, it is a win-win and I do recommend it to all readers.

Pros of Etude House Mascara Remover:

  • Comes in a leak-proof bottle.
  • Quantity would last a while.
  • Formulation is like that of a micellar water and oils in it help break down the water-proof makeup.
  • It removes kohl in waterline without tugging or pulling and does not irritate eye at all.
  • It is an affordable eye makeup remover.

Cons of Etude House Mascara Remover:

  • The bottle opening causes a lot of spillage and wastage of product and it would be better if it has a spray nozzle or a mister.
