I love flaunting brown when it comes to eye makeup. Browns & bronze are the only colors I love to wear every day, they give our eyes a naturally defined look with its neutral yet noticeable color. So this shadow is a must have for me. I love the matte brown color, it gives a nice natural defined look to the eyes.

Packaging: The eyeshadow comes in a cute square shaped pack, which is very travel friendly and sturdy. It comes safely packed in an outer pack. Both the outer pack and the container lid, has small transparent round section that shows up the colour inside. The lid of the container shuts with a click sound and is quiet tight. The eyeshadow doesn’t come with any kind of attached applicator to it; neither has it had any small mirror.

My Take on Coloressence Vibgyor Matte Eye shade Em-4:

Shade: This shade is a pure matte earthy dark brown color, with no shimmer or any kind of sheen to it. The color is perfect to wear to offices and colleges, it’s a very wearable shade, can be worn all over the lid or you can blend the color with some other lighter shade. The brown is perfect to be used in a smoky eye look. As I told the color appears very natural, but also enhances the shape of eye, but I don’t think this color will show up on darker skin tones but will admirably suit fair to light medium skin tones.

Texture and Pigmentation: Being completely on the matte side, the texture of the eyeshadow is smooth but yet on the chalky side. The texture is not very hard or extremely soft or creamy. But the color can be picked easily with finger tips or brushes. It’s an apt shadow for oily skin beauties. The shadow has pretty good to buildable pigmentation. The color is easily buildable, 2 swirls of brush in the color will give full dark brown color on eyes. But if you’re applying the shadow over a primer base, the color with come out more vibrant and intense.

Finish: The shadow being powdery matte in texture, gives a quite matte, but smooth finish on eyes. The color doesn’t appear chalky on eyes.

Staying Power: I try every shadow without a primer base, and this shadow lasted on my eyes for 2.5- 3 hrs without a bit of fading and creasing. I noticed the shade stains, and the staining part makes it last longer. With a primer on I really didn’t noticed any great improvement on the staying power. I think I should have used my MUA 3 in 1 extreme contour pen in Dark brown with this; they’ll make a perfect pair.

• An apt eye shadow for oily lids.
• Rather on the chalky side, but the texture is pretty much smooth.
• Pigmentation is average but the color is build able.

Cons of Coloressence Vibgyor Matte Eye Shade in EM-4:

• Staying power is very low; only 3 hrs comparing with the pearly textured eye shadows of this range.
• The texture is not creamy smooth.
• The color won’t show up on darker skin tones.

Will I Recommend Coloressence Vibgyor Matte Eye Shade in EM-4?

Yes, a perfect matte brown shade for beginners and everyone else. You can’t go wrong with this shade. Texture is pretty much smooth, the color is buildable, and staying power is satisfactory.
