Good Night Cream for Oily Skin: Ask IMBB

Ask IMBB Gang

Himshikha asks:

Hi IMBB gang!

I have been following your blog for more than a year and it’s become such an integral part of my life now, can’t imagine a day without it(no exaggerations) 🙂

Coming to my question, I have oily and extremely acne-prone skin, but the area around my mouth and under-eye is somewhat dry. I have noticed peeling in my mouth region when I tend to use harsher products. But the rest of my face is super oily.

1) I am looking for a good night cream for my skin, which can help in improving the overall skin texture, fading out acne marks as well as provide some anti ageing benefits. I currently use aloe vera gel at night but I feel I need something different now since I am turning 25 in December.

2) I currently use roghan badam shirin almond oil as my under eye treatment for night. Please suggest a good under eye night cream suitable for my age which could provide some hydration to the area. I don’t have any major dark circles as such.

3) I don’t use a toner currently, but would like to use one to get rid off any excess dirt or makeup.

Would love to hear your suggestions on the above questions.

  1. Hi Himshikha, if you are using soap on your face, stop doing that, and opt for a foaming face wash meant for oily skin. I think the harshness of soap is drying out the skin around your mouth while aggravating the pimple condition. TBS tea tree toner is a good one, otherwise you can check out Clinique’s three-step toner or FabIndia toner.

Overnight cream, try Forest Essentials or Clinique:

    1. Hi jomol! Thanks for posting my query. I dint use soap on my face. I currently use Himalaya neem face wash during the day and Aha glow face wash at night. I was thinking of fab India tea tree toner or loreal hydrafresh toner. How is the loreal one, any idea? Clinique is a bit pricey for me. Will check out the FE night cream. 🙂

  2. I love the Forest essentials when it comes to skin care. For toner, use fab india tea tree toner, or you can use rose water instead. 🙂

      1. Hey Himshikha, you and me have kindof similarities regarding age and skin type! *hifive*
Forest essentials night cream is really good. But the smell of jasmine is bit too strong for my liking. If you don’t have a sensitive nose, you can ignore this minor con. You can buy it from their website. 🙂 or also available on jabong . com and vellvette . com

For eye cream, aroma magic almond under eye cream is good. their gel is also good but not that hydrating.

        Hope I helped 😀

      1. Yes Himshikha. Vichy Normadern Nuit night cream helps you fight acen and fade scars. You can also try toner from the same range, which really helps you removing excess oil and dirt.
