Advantages of Grapefruit Diets for Non-Vegetarians and Vegetarians:

These two grapefruit diets help you lose weight with a complete diet plan. These diets includes lean protein, healthy fats, dietary fiber and complex carbs along with the nutritional goodness of the grapefruit. These diet plans doesn’t require you to starve. You can eat between meals but only healthy snacking, to keep your metabolism active. Both these diets are low in calories. Drinking warm water with lime juice in the mornings is the best detox drink for weight loss.

Having 8 ounces of grapefruit juice or half a grapefruit before every meal aids in instant weight loss. Since grapefruit is loaded with fiber, vitamin C and other nutrients, it helps suppress appetite, flush out toxins and reduce inflammation. Having pistachios for evening snacks aids in weight loss but do not exceed the advised quantity. Always opt for unsalted and shelled pistachios. Guidelines for Grapefruit Diet for Non-Vegetarians and Vegetarians:

1. Consuming grapefruit juice or grapefruit before breakfast, lunch, and dinner is a must.
2. Avoid processed carbs, sugary and salty foods.
3. Include only high fiber, low calorie and nutritious foods in your diet.
4. No unhealthy snacks or caffeine allowed.
5. Consume more protein and avoid high cholesterol foods.
6. Consume healthy fats.
7. Drink water and fluids to keep yourself hydrated.
8. Follow this diet only for ten days.
9. If you are on any kind of medication, do not opt for grapefruit diet without consulting your physician.

Grapefruit Diet for Non-Vegetarians:

Early Morning:
One cup warm water with lime juice

Breakfast:
Grapefruit-juice

1/2 grapefruit or 8 ounces of grapefruit juice
Two boiled or scrambled eggs
Two slices of turkey bacon or chicken bacon or fish bacon
4 to 6 almonds

Pre-Lunch
1/2 grapefruit or 8 ounces of grapefruit juice

Lunch
Vegetable salad with light dressing
One piece of grilled chicken breast

Evening Snack
Handful of unsalted, shelled pistachios

Pre-Dinner
1/2 grapefruit or 8 ounces of grapefruit juice

Dinner:
Chicken salad

Sauté veggies prepared in ghee or olive oil
Grilled salmon
OR
Ground turkey and veggie casserole
OR
Eggs and bacon are high in protein and will keep you active while almonds are a great source of healthy fats. Vegetable salad and grilled chicken breast are rich in dietary fiber, vitamins, minerals and lean protein. For dinner again, have a good amount of veggies and protein to provide your body with protein, complex carbs and other nutrients.

Grapefruit Diet for Vegetarians:

Early Morning
One cup warm water with lime juice

Breakfast
1/2 grapefruit or 8 ounces of grapefruit juice
Sprouted bean salad
4 to 6 almonds

Pre-Lunch
1/2 grapefruit or 8 ounces of grapefruit juice

Lunch
Boiled kidney beans and thinly sliced veggies tossed with chilly flakes, olive oil, apple cider vinegar and herbs

Evening Snack
Handful of unsalted, shelled pistachios

Pre-Dinner
1/2 grapefruit or 8 ounces of grapefruit juice

Dinner:
Sauté mushroom with lettuce, tomato, and bell pepper
OR
1 cup lentil soup
Sauté veggies
Bean sprouts are a great source of protein and almonds are rich in healthy fats. Eating spicy and tasty boiled kidney bean salad for lunch helps satiate your hunger and taste buds. Please note some spices aid weight loss. For dinner, eating sauté mushroom with veggies or lentil soup with veggies gives the right amount of protein, fiber and other nutrients required.
