My Experience with Gucci Luminous Perfecting Concealer :
I think Gucci has really nailed its face makeup line. I absolutely LOVE the Gucci Foundation and this luminous perfecting concealer is no exception.
The Gucci concealer comes in a click pen packaging with a fibre brush tip applicator. The encasing is gorgeous glossy black. The cap has the Gucci ‘G’ logo printed on it and the logo in gold is also embossed on top of the cap.
It comes in 6 different shades from light to dark. I picked up the shade 040 medium that has peachy undertones to it. It works perfectly to add brightness and to combat any redness on my under eye area.
The concealer has a medium coverage so if you are looking to cover the intense dark under eye circles, this may not work for you. You would have to use an opaque peachy concealer to combat the shadows and then you can use this concealer on top to brighten up your under eye area. I personally don’t have very dark under eyes, I have more of redness underneath the eyes. So I always look for concealers that can brighten up my under eye area and make me look awake. This just fits my bill perfectly.
The texture is super creamy and blends into the skin like a dream. It does not cake up or settle in fine lines. Plus, it stays all day long without fading.
The clickable pen makes it easier to carry around. The brush applicator is of great quality and feels very soft on the skin. I apply the concealer with the brush tip and then pat it in place with finger tips. I find that it sets quickly so I do one eye at a time instead of applying the concealer on both eyes and then blending it.
For the sake of comparison Chanel Eclat Lumiere Pen offers 1.5 ml of product and YSl Touche Eclat has 2.5 ml of product. Gucci has 2ml of product. Considering the price, I feel they could have easily gone with a 2.5ml product.
Overall, I absolutely loooove this concealer. It gives enough coverage and feels very light and natural on the skin. It corrects, conceals and highlights with the most natural looking application. Easy to use and stays on long. It lives up to its claim of ‘hides signs of fatigue’. Couldn’t ask for more.
