Today, I am reviewing a product which I had bought a while ago but never got around to reviewing. Recently, when I was clearing up a bit of my makeup stash, I saw it and decided to review it. So, read on to find out more about it.

My Experience with Hard Candy Twinkle Star Just Glow Baked Illuminating Duo:
Packaging: This illuminating duo comes in two separate compact pans which are attached together in the middle by a small cavity which holds a tiny brush. There is a small rectangular mirror which I found pretty pointless, and the lesser said about the brush, the better.
It has stiff hard bristles and I would totally recommend avoiding this brush. The packaging overall is sturdy but not exactly handy. The two pans attached together makes it a bit bulky to toss around in a purse.
Color/Texture/Lasting Power: I picked up the “Twinkle Star” duo. In the pan, this duo seems to have– a darker golden bronze shade and a lighter pink champagne shade. However, when swatched on the skin, the shades look quite different. The darker shade just shows up as a golden shiny mess with chunky glitter and the lighter shade appears as a frosty silvery shade. It also has some visible glitter. Overall, I am pretty disappointed with the shades as I hate visible glitter on my face, but I guess that justifies the name “Twinkle Star.”
The lighter shade is decently pigmented and does show up in couple of swipes. However, the darker shade is so difficult to pick up and you only end up intensifying the glitter with every swipe. Ugh!!
Baked products are typically supposed to be creamier than pressed products. However, I see no creaminess in these illuminating powders. The powders feel slightly chalky but are okay to blend. I would advise dry-skinned beauties to stay away.
I have never used this product outside of my house, but for the sake of completeness of my review, I wore it at home. The staying power of the darker shade is abysmal. I was left only with visible glitter after an hour or so of wear. The lighter shade fared a tad better. It lasts about 2-3 hours before fading and transferring some visible glitter all over the face.
To summarize, this is a product which I will never recommend to anyone unless you tell me you plan to be a “Twinkling Star.” 😛

- Poor staying power.
