Introducing IMBB Beauty Panel : Favourite Kajal

imbb-beauty-panelHi Everyone, 🙂

We are starting something new on IMBB and something that we envision to make it very useful for you guys. I always do Currently Loving posts but then I thought that it would be pretty awesome if a bunch of us share their favourites on a weekly basis. Hence the idea of having IMBB Beauty Panel emerged. The panel would always have members of IMBB team and some guest members from our lovely writers on a rotation basis. The idea is to have a list of products that we have used, abused, loved and would repurchase at the drop of a hat. A pure gold, unbiased list that is curated to help you guys make better decisions and that would push companies to make better products. We want to empower IMBB for its crude unbiased product reviews..the way we have kept it always and the way we would always want to keep it. We need your support and hope you like our little new venture.

Since this is the first post, it’s a little long with introductions of all the members in this panel for this week. Read on and please do list your favourites in comments below.! :))

Members Intro:

Rati is a makeup and fashion addict. It’s an understatement. She sometimes does makeup only because she feels like it. Well, she sometimes dresses up for the same reason or let’s say for no reason at all.She loves to travel with the owner of IMBB (cough!) . Every new lipstick excites her and every new blush makes her blush. Trust her for a lot of recommendations from high end luxury brands.

Jomol tries to find happiness in little things and most of the times those little things are Clinique foundations, blue nail paints, and pretty lipsticks 😛 She is a hoarder and hates to see her cosmetics reaching the expiry date. She loves to make new friends and being a part of their lives 🙂 She is a hardcore foodie and believes in the adage that “we live to eat.” Her favorite brands are Clinique, MAC, and TBS. Her skin tone is NW 45 (MAC) and she loves to try out new exfoliators in the market. Also, this quote she feels absolutely suits her, “I don’t have an attitude problem, I just have a personality that you cannot handle!”

Shikha is self proclaimed learner for life. She loves to explore new places, ideas and things. Books, movies, lipsticks and of course food mean the world to her. A wanderer at heart, she likes to take each day as it comes. A beginner health freak and a diehard advocate of feminism, she wants to excel in life and leave lots of love and happiness behind. Till then, she’s having one helluva time with her friends, family and her second family, IMBB! And oh, did we mention she is crazily in love with Robert Downey Jr for life? 🙂

Priyanka M is an optimistic, funloving, confident woman, who never gives up. She used to be a fitness freak and was never afraid to try any daring beauty trend until certain turn of events. Eventually, things changed, IMBB happened and she has been back, reintroducing herself to smokey eyes, red lips, stokes of colour, fashion and life with full enthusiasm.

Saloni can rightly be called the drugstore queen and no attractive or good-looking product can ever hide from her..holding a double degree of a BMS graduate and fashion designing, she is here at IMBB as a beauty researcher because she believes that “Do what you love, love what you do!”

Rashmita is a happy-go-lucky person who believes in the power of makeup to enhance her beautiful features rather than something that’s needed to hide any flaws. She always looks at the positive and brighter side of things, and when things are not going the right way, she silently lets them pass! She loves to travel and explore the world with her family 🙂

Guests :

Neha A is an avid makeup lover and enthusiast who love to experiment with bright and bold colors. She loves being creative with her makeup and share her experience with IMBB readers.

Neetu Tewari (Lohani) hails from kumaoun hills, Haldwani. She is currently based in California with her techie hubby & naughty 3.5 years old gal. She is blessed with extremely oily acne prone skin, which is quite sensitive as well. While it becomes combination type by winters but it does not help with her acne or zits. She is a true fighter and would spill her confused skin secrets as the panel goes along.

Priyanka Pendam is a final year engineering student that stumbled upon IMBB 2 years back and since then she is hooked on to it. She is crazy and passionate about anything related to makeup and beauty. She has completed over 200 articles so far and still writes with the same passion and enthusiasm. She is also a big fan of Rati and her sense of style.

Ankita Das is a beauty enthusiast. Apart from my love for makeup I try to live a holistic life. I see beauty in everything. For me makeup is something which enhances your beauty to another level. You can change your appearance with just few tricks. That is what inspires me to hoard more and more makeup.

KK, known to her friends as K2, is an ex-hotelier with a flair for communication and writing. After spending more than a decade managing customer dissonance and service recovery across industries, she decided to dabble her had in the multi-billion dollar beauty industry…this time on the other side of the fence – as a customer. She is a makeup junkie – loves all things high end – lipsticks, blushes, liners, highlighters – the more the merrier! Some of her favourite brands are NARS, Estee Lauder, Tom Ford and Bobbi Brown.

She loves to travel, read and keep abreast on all things beauty; and spends most of her time between her beauty pursuits, reading and taking care of her 2 chipmunks!

Favourite Kajal

Rati : I have lots count of how many MAC Smolder Kohls I have finished. It’s my ultimate go to. But recently I have totally been obsessed with Burberry Effortless Kohl Eyeliner. It’s deep dark black. Stays long. Can be smudged or worn just as a swipe of color.

Jomol : Maybelline Colossal Kajal is my favorite kajal, it smudges less than the other kajals, does not irritate my sensitive eyes, stays for a decent amount of time, and most importantly, it does not give me “panda eyes” that I absolutely dread!

Shikha : Lakme Eyeconic Kajal. Superb pigmentation. Superb staying power. Can be used on the waterline and eyelids both . This one has never ever disappointed me.

Priyanka M : If I had to choose one kajal for life, then it has to be Maybelline Colossal Kajal. It is retractable (no hassel to sharpen), dark black, smudge free, waterproof (to a good extent) and provides smooth application. It is everything that I want. P.S: I do not have oily eyelids.

Saloni : Lotus colorkick kajal. The kajal has a intense black colour pay-off which stays for hours and hours without giving me panda eyes 🙂

Rashmita : Faces Magneteyes Kajal. Smooth, pigmented, creamy, long staying, non irritating kohl that suits people wearing lens as well. At the given price point it a pure winner for me!

Neha A : My favorite kajal would be Charlotte Tilbury Rock N Kohl in the shade Bedroom Black. I love the jet black color, the silky smooth way it glides during application and it stays put for hours even on the waterline.

Neetu : My favorite kajal is Himalaya Herbals Kajal because firstly it does not smudge easily onto my under eye area while it does not transfer onto my oily skin other than during morning hours when I just wake up from nap. It is intense pigmented with soft buttery texture which never pokes or hurts my eye area. I find it pretty good for tight lining as well as defining eyes as it always maintains its pointed tip.

Priyanka Pandem : My favorite kajal is Bourjois Waterproof contour clubbing kajal because it is insanely pigmented, waterproof, stays on forever and has the smoothest and creamiest texture.

Ankita Das : For kajal I usually prefer using a retractable eyeliner pencil. My favorite one is Milani Liquid eye liquid like eyeliner pencil. I like this brand because it is long staying, does not make my eyes watery and the color is blackest of black.

KK :  If I want a black smudged smokey eye look – I tend to reach for MAC Smolder. It is soft, has great pigmentation, is easy to smudge, easy to sharpen to a point and can be set with a powder to last the whole day.

Have already finished using more than 10 of those humble little black sticks 🙂

    1. Hey Ankita! Great you too love it. We are three kajal addict sisters at home, and might have finished over hundreds pencils collectively. This is our absolute all-time favorite for years now. 😀

  2. Thank you rati, jomol (team IMBB) for this wonderful opportunity for having us in this panel 🙂 i hope its gonna really fun together with everyone!
I also want to mention about Burberry effortless blendable kohl pencil which rati also mentioned as I recently tried their pencil and so far loving it after my budget friendly kajal 🙂 its sure worth trying in high end budget!!

  3. It feels great to know the team closely :* My favorite kajal is Lotus color kick kajal. Just 2 days ago tried Kajal by Plum, it is on its way of becoming a fav 😀

    1. Yay Sheetal! Seems like you are on my team. I have also tried Colossal like others, but it just didn’t cut for me! 🙂

  4. I am absolutely honoured to share this platform with all of you experts like Rati, Jomol, Rash, KK, Neetu – we all have learned a lot about makeup and beauty by reading your reviews and articles. Sharing my views here is a big deal for me, really! I am in love with this idea and will look forward to each week as not only will I get to share my favorite products but also will get to explore a lot of other amazing products that I might be missing. Thanks for having me aboard, you guys! 🙂

  5. It feels super great to be a part of this panel… i am totally on cloud 9 because i am a part of this panel which has amazing, very experienced and talented members.. this is such a good idea for those who are hunting for a particular product category.. looking for a kajal… come to this page.. count votes and get one for yourself plus know the members choices as well.. such a good way to make a decision of which product to buy.. super happy 🙂

  6. That’s a great idea. 😀 I was going to buy new kajal because most of the drugstore brand kajal stings my eye badly except for the Lakme’s Absolute kohl. Now I am going to try MAC’s Smolder after reading it’s review and after all it comes with the recommendation of Rati and KK. 🙂

  7. Wow..another brilliant initiative by IMBB…Well, my favourite kajal is Lakme eyeconic..I have been using since 1 year and I am absolutely in love with this kajal and suits my sensitive eyes.

  8. Can u do a post on the best brown/ coloured kajal/eyepencil/eyeliners too?
I struggle to find the exact shade of brown that I want… that is, a light brown that defines the eyes but also looks very subtle, which would go with bold red lips…. thankuu 🙂

  9. Rati, Amazing initiative from IMBB. Honestly, I could guess the personalities of each one of them soon after reading out their names, esp. Jomol, Saloni, Rashmita, Neetu, KK, Neha in spite of not interacting with them personally. Looks like im addicted to IMBB 😉
    Anyway, who’s complaining??? 🙂
My favourites are Maybelline Colossal and Lakme Iconic!!

  10. I look forward to the ‘currently loving’ sections but now looking at this, it got better only better. It is going to be a fun interactive session 😀 totally looking forward to more of this *thumbs up* guys. Well as far as my favortire kajal’s go ‘Lakme Eyeconic’ and ‘MAC’s Smolder Eye Kohl’. I totally love these although I am trying new products.

  11. Now this is something called as super awesome idea! Totally nailed it 🙂
For me the best bet is Lakme Iconic.. 😀

  12. My all time favourite and saviour would be mac graph black! 10+ hour stay, easy to smudge ,doesn’t give panda eyes, stays intact and is super black!

  13. Who’d have thought I’d be on IMBB Panel?? The credit goes to Rati di and Jomol di for considering me as a member. It feels like one of my dreams just came true! 😀 This couldn’t be any better! 🙂 Made my day-or should I say evening- the best one! 🙂 yay to the Panel! 😀

  14. OMG!!! This is totally a wonderful idea.. But I have a suggestion.. Many times, you read reviews and wonder if the product is gonna work for your skin type or skin tone. It would be great if you could include some deets on the skin type/tone/hair texture of the panelists. That way, you know what works on someone with a similar skin or hair.

  15. It’s a great post. Love all the members and Rati mam. IMBB is a super team. I also love Maybelline colossal kajal like jomol. This kajal stay on my eyes amazingly.. 🙂 🙂

  16. Wow. This is a great initiative. My favorite one Maybelline gel liner which i even apply as Kajal . but i like Lotus color kick too…

    Colossal never worked for me.

  17. I’ve always loved the maybelline colossal. Ive gone through so many of them but in my July Fabbag I received the Sugar kajal and that has replaced my love for colossal.

  18. Superb initiative guys. Way to go 🙂
Just like Shikha, even I’ve been in love with Lakme Eyeconic for years. Tried other brands to replace it, but it still stands the best for me.

  19. excellent initiative folks..looking forward to your posts/articles.

i am currently in love with lotus opulence..it is THE best especially for someone like me who has oily lids..love the lakme Eyeconic too
