Isehan Kiss Me Heroine Make Impact Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner #01 Review

Hi guys!

The previous success of Isehan Kiss Me Heroine Make Long And Curl And Super Water Proof Mascara inspired me to seek out and buy the liquid eyeliner of the same brand. Is it the same in quality? Let’s find out!

My Experience with Isehan Kiss Me Heroine Make Impact Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner #01:

The liner comes in a thin and very sleek container. The entire container is deep purple in colour and just the cap has sparkles in it. It looks so pretty when it catches the light. The longest part of the packaging is the cap which is nicely tapered towards the top. I have to say the cap being this long is amazing because you get a good amount of control holding the brush. You feel like you are holding a pen. I love this aspect of the packaging. The bottle itself is quite tiny. But, this means you are not getting a whole lot of product (it has 2.5 g of product). This will last about 2-4 months depending on the frequency of usage.

The main thing written on the packaging is that it is super waterproof (like its mascara) and you can use it in the pool and for ‘dance’ (?) and will not come off even if you cry a lot. As for removal, it comes off very easily with cleansing oil, but I think it will come off with a standard makeup remover as well.

The formula of this one is really really good. It is pigmented, opaque, jet black and dries down to a matte finish within seconds of application. That means, you don’t have a ton of play time with it. So, what I do to get around this is I make the outline with a pen-style liner and fill it in with this.

Another thing to keep in mind with this one is that in the swatches, it looks like it bleeds a lot but does not bleed when applied on the eyes, if mixed thoroughly. It glides on well and gives a straight line. I recommend not to press down on the wand. There is a sweet spot of gentle but firm pressure, which you will get as you practice with any liquid liner. So for newbies, I recommend drawing an outline first and then filling it in.

The wand on this one is brush-style. It hasn’t gotten splayed in the time I have it. But, it tends to hold a lot of product. There is a small stopper in the bottle (like a mascara) to prevent crazy amount of product coming out on the wand. I still like to take the excess off at the rim. If you don’t, you will get a thick line and if you do, you will get a fairly thin line.

You really need to shake the bottle well before each use otherwise you get diluted liquid (especially if you haven’t used it in days) which you need to layer at least twice or thrice to get full opacity. Once it is on, it will feel heavy for a few minutes. This happens when you apply more than one layer. Also, the liner will bleed, especially if the motion when applying it is very very slow (only when you haven’t shaken the container).

But, if you do remember to shake it well (there is a small ball inside which makes a rattling sound), you won’t have this problem because one layer is enough to get complete opacity. This liquid does not bleed. You will still need to wipe and take the excess off each time if you are doing some precision work (for example the wing in winged liner). Otherwise, there is a huge blob of black ink on your eye and you have to clean it up.

Another thing I have noticed is that if you don’t angle the wand correctly, there is a chance that the top part of the wand will stamp the product on your eyes. So, I wouldn’t recommend it for beginners.

Final thoughts:
In short, I always need a makeup remover, a tissue or a cotton bud handy each time I use this. Granted, it is because of my sloppy technique, but this is too high maintenance for me. I prefer the pen-style liners available here. They are solid, low-maintenance, opaque, waterproof and require zero touch-ups. I would forever repurchase pen-style liners for the rest of my life, if I could! This is my personal opinion, of course, but lovers of liquid eyeliners will love it if you remember to do some of the things I mentioned above.

Pros of Isehan Kiss Me Heroine Make Impact Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner #01:

• Jet black colour
• Awesome colour payoff – one layer is all you need
• Dries down matte
• Dries down in seconds
• Amazing packaging – cap is very comfortable to hold
• Glides on the eyes beautifully
• Comes off easily with a cleansing oil

Cons of Isehan Kiss Me Heroine Make Impact Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner #01:

• Fast drying time (you have to work quickly)
• Excess product has to be taken off for precision work
• Unmixed liquid has slight tendency to bleed, is not fully opaque and hence can feel heavy on the lids – shaking the container is recommended

IMBB Rating:

Would I Recommend Isehan Kiss Me Heroine Make Impact Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner #01?
If you are clumsy/newbie to liquid eyeliners and tend to make mistakes, then I would not recommend any liquid liner, specially this one because of the short play time. Otherwise, go for it! You won’t be disappointed!

  1. This product is a strict no no for me. I can use any type of liners, but my hands shiver while using liquid ones. 🙁

  2. Missed your reviews Ramya, I like reading about new products from you 🙂 and I too prefer pen style or gel liners too but liquid ones are very hard for me to use..
