This review is completely dedicated to Rati for getting me addicted to Kama products and especially the one I am going to review today – the Kama Rejuvenating and Brightening Ayurvedic Night Cream 😀
So here it goes…
Price: Rs. 1195 for 50gm
Super Impressive isn’t it?
This incredible Rejuvenating & Brightening Ayurvedic Night cream is a special blend of precious and rare ingredients to help illuminate the skin colour and promote cell growth. Our Ayurveda based formula is blended with the finest of Saffron from Kashmir to brighten your skin, reduce dark circles and pigmentation. Indian Madder and Aloe Vera has antiseptic properties which prevents fine lines and delays the process of ageing skin. Vetiver, and lotus cool and cleanse while helping clear blemishes. Liquorice, an antiseptic, protects against bacterial and fungal infections. A perfect leave in night treatment for youthful naturally radiant skin.
As you can see from the pic above, the outer box looks really luxurious, expensive, and classy. The product itself comes in a small glass tub which is very elegant as well but dangerous for a clumsy person like me ;P
The tub packaging as you know is unhygienic but I use a spatula to scoop it out.
The cream is light yellow in color and very thick. However, having oily skin I don’t find it difficult to spread the cream evenly. Dry skinned women may find it a little difficult to spread it but moistening the face a little bit with rose water before application might help. It needs a little bit of work in getting absorbed as I have to massage my face for half a minute before it gets absorbed completely. It feels pretty heavy when applied initially but a quick light massage helps it sink into the skin easily. It doesn’t leave any stickiness or oily residue behind though. I think night creams should feel a bit heavy on the face as they need to work overnight on the skin especially if we are sleeping in an air conditioned room. But that’s just a very personal preference.
The smell is completely ayurvedic and luxurious – for those of you who have used it, its pretty similar to the Kumkumadi Tailam from Kama. But it doesn’t linger as long as the Kumkumadi Tailam.
My Experience With Kama Rejuvenating and Brightening Ayurvedic Night Cream
I had been alternating between the Vichy Normaderm night cream and the Forest Essentials Jasmine & Patchouli night cream for the past couple of years and totally love both of them. But I was a little bored of both and was on the lookout for a good night cream for oily skin. Then I read Rati’s haul post and got to know about this new night cream from Kama – it came just at the right time…so a BIG THANK YOU to Rati!
I bought it the very next day although it isn’t specifically meant for oily skin. Its meant for all skin types, which is a little weird, but it had everything I needed – lightening, brightening, and anti-ageing – so what’s not to love?I have been using it for the past 3 1/2 weeks and was so impressed with it that I decided to share the review with you guys 😀
This cream has blown me away completely! It has successfully removed my tan and has brightened my skin noticeably. I don’t have dark circles or wrinkles, so can’t comment on that, but I do find that my skin looks nourished, plump, and fresh with the usage of this cream. It hasn’t broken me out ever, keeps my skin moisturized and has definitely improved the overall quality of my skin. I find a nice tightening effect with the regular usage of this product so it has become my HG night cream now.
Pros of Kama Rejuvenating and Brightening Ayurvedic Night Cream
Stays true to its claims of brightening and lightening and moisturizes the skin really well.
My skin looks fresh, supple, plump and the tan is removed completely.
The packaging is super luxurious and classy!
The texture is smooth and it gets absorbed quite easily with the added benefit of a light massage.
It hasn’t broken me out and that is a big win as I have very sensitive and oily skin.
It doesn’t leave any residue or oiliness behind and when I wake up in the morning my skin doesn’t look sweaty or oily at all.
Has lightened the blemishes to quite an extent.
I think its good value for money as a little goes a long way and for the luxurious spa like feeling that I get.
The ingredient list is very impressive with saffron being an active ingredient.
Cons of Kama Rejuvenating and Brightening Ayurvedic Night Cream
It hasn’t made a big difference to a few stubborn acne marks that I have.
It doesn’t get absorbed instantly and a light massage is needed – so its a con for people who like night creams that get instantly absorbed.
I don’t think this would be moisturizing enough for dry to very dry skinned people especially in winters as it works on my skin which is super oily. Rati can correct me if I am wrong here 🙂
The smell might bother people who don’t like strong ayurvedic fragrances.
The jar is not travel friendly and the tub packaging is unhygienic.
Gets a 10/5 from me for sure!
At last I have found my super HG night cream – if there is any such thing. My HG night cream before this was the FE one but I like this night cream better because its lightening and brightening properties are more visible. I am in love with this product and would definitely repurchase it. But dry/very dry skinned beauties should look for something more moisturizing or at least try a sample before buying this.
Hope you guys found this helpful 🙂
