Packaging:

As you can see from the pic above, the outer box looks really luxurious, expensive, and classy. The product itself comes in a small glass tub which is very elegant as well but dangerous for a clumsy person like me ;P
The tub packaging as you know is unhygienic but I use a spatula to scoop it out.

Texture:

The cream is light yellow in color and very thick. However, having oily skin I donā€™t find it difficult to spread the cream evenly. Dry skinned women may find it a little difficult to spread it but moistening the face a little bit with rose water before application might help. It needs a little bit of work in getting absorbed as I have to massage my face for half a minute before it gets absorbed completely. It feels pretty heavy when applied initially but a quick light massage helps it sink into the skin easily. It doesnā€™t leave any stickiness or oily residue behind though. I think night creams should feel a bit heavy on the face as they need to work overnight on the skin especially if we are sleeping in an air conditioned room. But thatā€™s just a very personal preference.
The smell is completely ayurvedic and luxurious – for those of you who have used it, its pretty similar to the Kumkumadi Tailam from Kama. But it doesnā€™t linger as long as the Kumkumadi Tailam.

My Experience With Kama Rejuvenating and Brightening Ayurvedic Night Cream

I had been alternating between the Vichy Normaderm night cream and the Forest Essentials Jasmine & Patchouli night cream for the past couple of years and totally love both of them. But I was a little bored of both and was on the lookout for a good night cream for oily skin. Then I read Ratiā€™s haul post and got to know about this new night cream from Kama – it came just at the right time…so a BIG THANK YOU to Rati!

I bought it the very next day although it isnā€™t specifically meant for oily skin. Its meant for all skin types, which is a little weird, but it had everything I needed – lightening, brightening, and anti-ageing – so whatā€™s not to love?I have been using it for the past 3 1/2 weeks and was so impressed with it that I decided to share the review with you guys šŸ˜€

This cream has blown me away completely! It has successfully removed my tan and has brightened my skin noticeably. I donā€™t have dark circles or wrinkles, so canā€™t comment on that, but I do find that my skin looks nourished, plump, and fresh with the usage of this cream. It hasnā€™t broken me out ever, keeps my skin moisturized and has definitely improved the overall quality of my skin. I find a nice tightening effect with the regular usage of this product so it has become my HG night cream now.

Pros of Kama Rejuvenating and Brightening Ayurvedic Night Cream

ļ¬ Stays true to its claims of brightening and lightening and moisturizes the skin really well.
ļ¬ My skin looks fresh, supple, plump and the tan is removed completely.
ļ¬ The packaging is super luxurious and classy!
ļ¬ The texture is smooth and it gets absorbed quite easily with the added benefit of a light massage.
ļ¬ It hasnā€™t broken me out and that is a big win as I have very sensitive and oily skin.
ļ¬ It doesnā€™t leave any residue or oiliness behind and when I wake up in the morning my skin doesnā€™t look sweaty or oily at all.
ļ¬ Has lightened the blemishes to quite an extent.
ļ¬ I think its good value for money as a little goes a long way and for the luxurious spa like feeling that I get.
ļ¬ The ingredient list is very impressive with saffron being an active ingredient.

Cons of Kama Rejuvenating and Brightening Ayurvedic Night Cream

ļ¬ It hasnā€™t made a big difference to a few stubborn acne marks that I have.
ļ¬ It doesnā€™t get absorbed instantly and a light massage is needed – so its a con for people who like night creams that get instantly absorbed.
ļ¬ I donā€™t think this would be moisturizing enough for dry to very dry skinned people especially in winters as it works on my skin which is super oily. Rati can correct me if I am wrong here šŸ™‚
ļ¬ The smell might bother people who donā€™t like strong ayurvedic fragrances.
ļ¬ The jar is not travel friendly and the tub packaging is unhygienic.

IMBB Rating:

Gets a 10/5 from me for sure!

Overall verdict:

At last I have found my super HG night cream – if there is any such thing. My HG night cream before this was the FE one but I like this night cream better because its lightening and brightening properties are more visible. I am in love with this product and would definitely repurchase it. But dry/very dry skinned beauties should look for something more moisturizing or at least try a sample before buying this.

Hope you guys found this helpful šŸ™‚

  1. I am glad you reviewed this aarbee because I was not going to. The day cream broke me out so badly (review coming up in a day or two šŸ™‚ ) that I was too scared to use this one. I think after this review, I have a heart to use this. so thanks for this one.

  2. I am tempted to try this cream but the price OMG!!! I wish there was a trial pack for this since i have a normal to dry skin

Rati Mam, I have one query about the day cream I should go for. Can you please help me suggesting the best day cream (preferably ayurvedic) . Its your reviews that I follow regularly. I have normal skin type. Have gone through the reviews of Best & Worst cream 2013, where you hv recommended Forest Essentials Eternal Youth Formula for day cream. Request you to please guide me whether I shld go wid the same or the other.
