My Experience with Lakme 9 to 5 Primer + Matte Lipstick Scarlet Surge:
This lipstick comes in a beautiful metallic rose gold sort of a packaging. It click locks and I find the overall appeal very enticing.
This range has some repetitive shades from the earlier 9 to 5 range. “Scarlett Surge” is a pretty bright red color with orange tones to it. I think any skin tone will be able to rock it.
The texture is smooth but not buttery or creamy. It is smooth enough for a matte lipstick, never feels powdery or dry to me. It can be built in layers and I love thick coats of this lipstick. In one swipe, you do get full color, true to the color in the tube. The primer element in it kind of fills up the lip lines, but overall, the lipstick is very similar to the previous 9 to 5 lipsticks. If you have very dry lips, this can seem uncomfortable to you.

Pros of Lakme 9 to 5 Primer + Matte Lipstick Scarlet Surge:

- The color that comes on the lips is true to the color in the tube.
- Pigmented and matte.
- Never feels too dry on me.
- Wears for 5-6 hours on me.
- Nice glam packaging.
- Never bleeds.
- Flattering red for brides too.
Cons of Lakme 9 to 5 Primer + Matte Lipstick Scarlet Surge:
- Dry lips might crave for a lip balm, have a swatch test on the lips before purchase.
- Many shades are similar to the previous 9 to 5 range, wish they bring in more new shades.
- 12-hour wear time is far fetched.
Would I Recommend Lakme 9 to 5 Primer + Matte Lipstick Scarlet Surge?
Yes, when I find new shades that I already do not own from the previous “9 to 5” collection.
