Maybelline Dream Touch Blush – Shade 07 Review

Maybelline Dream Touch Blush – Shade 07 Review

On high public demand, here is the review of the New Dream Touch Blush by Maybelline 😀

Maybelline Dream Touch Blush Shade 07 Review

If you are wondering what is new about this “Dream Touch Blush” and is it different from the Dream Mousse Blush, then let me tell you, it is!

Firstly, the Dream Mousse blush is “Air whipped” Mousse Blush, making it apt for most skin types, especially oily-combination skin. The new Dream Touch blush is a cream whipped formula.  Also, the new formula carries more shimmer in my opinion, from what I could notice when I swatched both at the counter.

Lastly, you get more product(7.5 gms for Rs. 375) in the New Dream Touch Blush, as compared to the Dream Mousse Blush (5.75 gms for Rs. 205).

Apart from quite similar packaging, there is nothing common between them.

Product Description:

  • Cream Whipped Blush.
  • Ultra Blendable.
  • Natural-looking flush of colour.

Why you’ll Love It:

• Ultra soft cream-whipped blush.
• Refined colour pigments for better colour payoff.
• Ultra blendable, it melts into your skin effortlessly.
• A lighter than air fell on skin and an all-day freshly applied look.

Expert Tip:

With your fingertips, pat a small amount of blush onto the apples of your cheeks. Use feathery strokes to blend gently from your cheekbones to your temples. To build colour intensity, apply more blush.

Shades Available:

4 actually, but only 3 have reached counters as of now.

The shades carry numbers instead of names.

Here are the swatches of the 3 shades:

If you saw my post on Maybelline new launches, you would know I purchased shade No. 4 from the range.

I tried it on and it was not showing at all on me after blending it in 😐 On my NC 25 skin tone, the shade 04 appeared just like a highlighter.  So, I got it exchanged for shade 07.  The shades carry numbers, instead of names.

Shade 07 is beautiful earthy pink with slight plum tone and specks of plum and silver shimmer in it. The shimmer this blush carries is not chunky/gritty/glittery as such, but I won’t consider it very fine. However, it gives a pretty, glowy finish to the cheeks. I don’t need to wear a highlighter at all over this.

Packaging:

The blush comes in a simple but cute, lightweight glass pot with a screw off cap. I noticed that the colour of the cap corresponds to the shade of the blush. Nice!!!

Texture and Pigmentation:

The texture of the blush is wonderfully soft, lightweight, creamy and buttery. When I rubbed it between my fingers, it almost slipped.

Dream Touch Range

It blends easily on the cheeks without much effort. I prefer to use my fingers or sponge for blending this. When I swatched it on my hand, it seemed quite pigmented. But, upon application, I realised that this turns out very sheer (I had to get the shade 04 exchanged for shade 07 for the same reason).

Dream Touch Range

Building it up or layering does not seem to work too, as when I used more product/blush, it added to the shimmer/shine too, which in turn enhanced my pores :\  I believe the shades available in this range may not look flattering on deeper skin tones.

Dream Touch Range

The staying power is pretty good. I wore this to a party recently and it remained intact for good 4-5 hours. However, on my combination skin, I noticed that my cheeks got a little too shiny as a result of the shimmer in the blush+oil secretion from my skin :\ after that. But, I like that it didn’t melt down or fade away completely.

I wanted to do a proper FOTD, but my skin is in quite crappy condition at the moment, so here are a few pictures to just give you an idea about the blush.

What I Like about Maybelline Dream Touch Blush – Shade 07:

  • The formula is very soft, creamy and buttery.
  • Blends easily without much effort.
  • Feels lightweight on the skin.
  • The shimmer it has is not chunky/gritty.
  • Gives a beautiful glow to the cheeks.
  • You don’t need a highlighter over this.
  • If you like sheer blushes, you will like these.
  • Great for parties or evenings out.
  • Cute glass pot packaging.
  • No cheap/strong fragrance.
  • Decent staying power.
  • You get a lot of product.
  • Maybelline products are easily available across counters in India.
  • Fairly priced.

What I Do Not Like about Maybelline Dream Touch Blush – Shade 07:

  • If I try to build upon this blush for intense colour, the shimmer content also increases, which ends up enhancing appearance of pores.
  • Ladies with oily to super oily skin may want to give this a pass. I personally prefer a matte blush for summers.
  • On deep skin tones, the blush will show up very lightly.
  • Limited shade selection.
  • No ingredients list mentioned

IMBB Rating:

3.85 on 5 :-* :-* :-*

Overall Verdict:

At the current price, I would definitely consider this a good value for money.  I don’t see myself reaching for it often or for my day time wear, but for a few special occasions or parties, I would love to wear this for glowy cheeks. The quality of shimmer in it is not too bad, but I just wish, it came with a lesser amount of shimmer.  Also, these turn out very sheer on the skin after blending in, so don’t fall for the shades by just swatching them on your hand.  Ladies with oily skin type should stock up on the old air whipped version (in case it is your favourite) as it is going to be discontinued soon:\
