Shades Available:

The blush has been launched in 4 shades. I can’t recall their names completely and the Lakme official website has no updates either. I remember faintly that I saw one blush in brown tone, peachy-pink tone and another one was mauve-plum kinds. All the 4 blushes are shimmery ones.

I picked up the shade Night Sparkle, which is in pink tone.

Price:

INR 550 For 4 gms.

Packaging:

The new Lakme chromatic blush comes in a lightweight, round pan with steel finish rim and plastic lid.  I stared and stared at it as I had a strong feeling that I had definitely seen such similar blush packaging before. Well, I was right, as the packaging is similar to Chambor Glitzy blushes and a little like TBS ones too.

Take a closer look at this blush.

My Verdict on Lakme Asbolute Cheek Chromatic Baked Blush:

Okay, I have never been a major fan of Lakme products, but when IMBB featured a post on this New Absolute Range, I wanted to try it out. The range finally launched a few days back and I got this blush (and other things which you can see at the end of this post).

The shade that I got, “Night sparkle” is a gorgeous warm pink shade (more on the baby pink side) with lots of silver+golden shimmer, ummm, I would rather say glittery shimmer in it. The shimmer specks in it are not the finest one, but they are not chunky either. The blush however has a good balance of shimmer and colour payoff which I like, as in I have seen shimmery blushes which give more colour and less shine and vice versa, but with this blush, I see a good amount of shine and colour, both with a single swipe.

The blush adds a pretty pink flush and glow/shine to the cheeks and I find it apt for my party makeup; however, this is not something I would prefer to wear for routine or daytime. Also, this particular shade will suit well light to medium skin tones.

The quality of the blush powder is good, the texture is soft and smooth, blends easily and does not get chalky or powdery at all. The pigmentation is decent too, I swirl over my blush brush once on the blush pan completely and that amount is enough for both my cheeks.

The product claims that it can be used both in dry and wet form, but I have always used it in the dry form only as I prefer my blushes to give a subtle/sheer effect rather than something dramatic.

The blush has a staying power of some 4-5 hours, after which it starts fading off, like it won’t disappear completely, the pinkness on the cheeks would reduce a little, but the shine/shimmer stays on.

I have described the packaging above, so I would not repeat it here. I would just like to mention that it comes sans a mirror or applicator. I find the casing/packaging cute. In fact, I quite like the packaging of all the products in this Absolute Range.

Overall, I like this New Lakme Absolute Blush!  I just wish there were more shade options in it, including matte blushes and the shimmer in it could have been finer than what it is now. Apart from these, I suggest you just go out and definitely check these out at the Lakme counters.

Here are pictures for your reference of how it looks on me.

Summings its pros and cons below:

Pros Lakme Asbolute Cheek Chromatic Baked Blush:

  • The powder is soft, smooth.
  • Blends easily and quickly.
  • The shimmer in it brings about a nice glow on the cheeks.
  • The product has good balance of shimmer and colour pay off.
  • Apt for those-special-occasions/party makeup.
  • Available in 4 basic tones and pretty shades.
  • Decent pigmentation.
  • Good staying power.
  • Can be used wet or dry as per your preference.
  • Lakme Products are available throughout India easily.
  • I find the pricing just fine, no qualms about it (I hope I don’t sound snobbish 😐 )

Cons of Lakme Asbolute Cheek Chromatic Baked Blush:

  • The shimmer could have been finer than what it is.
  • The product has a lot of fallout.
  • I don’t find it apt for day-daily wear.
  • No matte blushes have been launched in the blush range.
  • No mirror or applicator included (okay, I don’t mind the missing applicator much as they are 99.99% of the times so useless, but I do like my cosmetics to have a built-in vanity mirror).

IMBB Rating:

3.85 on 5 :-* :-* :-* Good Going Lakme :waytogo: :waytogo: :waytogo:

Here is a picture of what all I got apart from this blush from this Absolute Range of Lakme.
